I asked him if he had friends that are Vietnam Vets. He said yes. So I followed up by asking how his friends feel about Kerry. "All of them think he's a jerk," was the reply.
Where does Kerry get these Vets to support him? Is he paying them?
They may be hoping for a good White House job if he gets elected. They watched how Arkansas packed up and moved when Clinton was elected.
How sure are you that this person really is a veteran?
Would someone please tell Fox News that there are people from Kerry's boat who are members of the Swift Boat Veterans group? They keep repeating the liberal lies.
Maybe Rassman is the one who recommended Kerry for the first purple heart when his commander just laughed in his face?

Don't paint with broad strokes.
Vietnam vets come in all political stripes, just like anyone else. Some will supporty Kerry because they are liberal, that's all.
Same with the idea that a wide majority in the armed services are conservative - that simply isn't the case and to think that is counterproductive.

Remember Kerry's testimony before the Senate, with the VV agianst the war..his infamous quote.."How do you ask a young man to be the last American to die in Vietnam?"

That vet is mistaken. The NVA and Viet Cong invaded South Vietnam. They weren't "defending thier country", they were invading a soveriegn nation.
The US bombed North Vietnam in order to stop the invasion.

One of the great political difficulties of the VietNam War was that the South Vietnamese government was far from a stellar example of republican democracy in action. I have read that the VN President's wife "owned" an extremely high percentage of the fertile land in South VietNam and I recall distinctly that a Vietnamese acquaintance described the fact that there was little need to vote in the Presidential election because there was only one candidate on the ballot.
It is very difficult to help people like the Vietnamese of that time or the Iraqis of this time when they have no culture of democratic rule. Many such people will have been taught that there is little to be gained and much to be lost by challenging others for political power. Such people will simply attempt to recognize who has the power and do what they must not to become their enemies.
Please name one clear and undisputed heroic action of Jean Fraude Kerrí's.

That's about what I thought. I'll give Jean Fraude credit for showing up on the field of battle, but he loses points for exaggerating and fabricating his service record, and for cutting and running 8 months shy of his complete tour. But millions showed up on the field of battle in Nam. That was worth a service medal, not a medal for valor, and in overwhelmingly vast majority of cases, no one left before their tour of duty was over unless they left in a stretcher or a casket.
