A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (PHOTOS): 8.19.04

The President's hardworking National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice spoke about and took questions on the Global War on Terror's war of ideas, addressing the efforts the Bush Administration has taken to lead the world toward values and understanding that will bring a just and lasting peace, at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington D.C. today. Dr. Rice counseled Americans to be 'less critical of every twist and turn' in Iraq.

Retiring Senator Zell Miller, D-GA, will deliver the keynote address at the GOP Convention.

Dr. Condoleeza Rice talks with Sean Hannity (radio link) on military transformation.

The First Lady had a significant interview with Bill Sammon of The Washington Times, stating she believes life begins at conception and that she supports her husband's view on abortion. Asked if she was pro-life, she answered yes and stated abortion should be rare. "Mrs. Bush laughed incredulously when asked whether the press was fair and impartial in its coverage of a conservative such as President Bush. Her press secretary, Gordon Johndroe, laughed even more heartily." The twins will not be speaking at the GOP convention, she said. The short interview is worth the read. She described her husband as "very loving and compassionate and really sweet."

The interview excerpted further: "The first lady was asked whether she would be devastated if her husband lost. 'Yes, of course,' she said. 'Would we still have a life? Sure. Would we have a good life? Sure.' [Sammon asks:] Would Americans survive a Kerry presidency? 'They'll do a lot better,' she said, smiling ruefully, 'with a Bush re-election.'"

President Bush will be vacationing for a week at his ranch so we're not likely to be seeing a lot of the usual photos.

Question..Obama, who delivered the Dem keynote..spoke at 8PM..I seem to recall that the keynote speech used to be a bigger deal..given later in the evening..it often was the BIG speechof the night, not "Mama T's blather...have you seen the GOP schedule..Zell should speak at 10PM..catch the West coast crowd..

I managed to eat my lunch without incident for once today. But I was klutzy enough to walk into Guffman's SUV rear-view mirror, trip up the stairs in her garage and knock over a bunch of things in her laundry room...all just trying to get into the house carrying a few boxes.
I'm hopeless!
Ohh, chicken burgers and new potatoes are good!
Lucky!

Incredible. I swear I get physically ill thinking that Kerry might win this thing! I keep telling myself...just wait until after the RNC convention. W will get a bounce and then he will slam him in the debates. But I tell ya...seeing polls like the one out of PA that has Kerry ahead by 6 and stating that people are influenced by Michael Moore and Howard Stern has me really scared!

I'm working my tail off here - phone calls, signs, letters, etc. - but the polls just keep coming up even EVERYWHERE! The market and oil prices have me spooked too.

Sheesh...I hope the convention is a good one!!

Wow that really does give the impression of how big the arena is and the crowd size really catches the atmosphere. I wish they had things like this in England, nearest I can get to this is a soccer match.

I haven't seen that. Does Kerry still have the same limp-wristed salute that he did at the convention, or is he getting better at it?

GWB's going to win this one, IMO.
I just have that feeling. Felt it in 2000, too. Even though it was close.
I just don't think it's possible for America to end up under a kerry presidency. There has to be some Divine Inspiration here...

I haven't seen the GOP line-up yet. But, I agree. Senator Miller should speak at 10:00 (Karl Rove...please pick up the white courtesy phone)

Thank you. The arena was pretty full and I was very impressed by the attendance and the spirit of the crowd. It was very VERY motivating.

Better than Clinton..actually, he's good at it..and he should be..when officers are first commissioned, we spend endless hours practicing alone in front of the mirror...

Sorry to ask this...but, does anyone have the side-by-side photo of Laura Bush and Terraazza. I think the captions were "right stuff/wrong stuff"

I've been going slightly nuts looking for it.

Thanks!!

Divine Inspiration? I am hoping for Divine Intervention too! LOL. :) Kerry has NO BUSINESS being in command of this nation. None. I simply don't want to be a socialist and I resent the idea that people of that ilk are trying to get control of the country my ancestors fought to secure for us. It's a travesty that we should even have to worry about such things!

That's what I thought. But did you see Kerry's feeble attempts at the convention and immediately after? He looked like he had taken lessons from clintoon.

I was thinking the same thing today, my forebearers fought in the Revolution for the ideals and self-reliance that kerry seems in all outward appearances to oppose.
I just don't think he will win. God has bless us this far, and I don't believe we will be turned over to a "leader" who is so dangerous for our future.
As for the Insipiration, I'm hoping that our fellow Americans are inspired by the truth and vote for GWB!

JfnK must want some of the aura of the vets to rub off on him when they exchange mutual salutes.

This is all the schedule I've seen so far:

Monday, August 30, 2004
- Mayor Michael Bloomberg
- Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani
- Senator John McCain (R-AZ)

Tuesday, August 31, 2004
- First Lady Laura Bush
- Secretary of Education Rod Paige
- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger

Wednesday, September 1, 2004
- Mrs. Lynne Cheney
- Vice President Dick Cheney
- Senator Zell Miller (D-GA)

Thursday, September 2, 2004
- Governor George Pataki
- President George W. Bush

The 2004 Republican National Convention will be held for the first time ever in New York City at Madison Square Garden from August 30 - September 2, 2004. Nearly 50,000 visitors are expected to visit the city for the occasion. For more information about the 2004 Republican National Convention, please visit our website at www.gopconvention.com.
