The President's hardworking National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice spoke about and took questions on the Global War on Terror's war of ideas, addressing the efforts the Bush Administration has taken to lead the world toward values and understanding that will bring a just and lasting peace, at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington D.C. today. Dr. Rice counseled Americans to be 'less critical of every twist and turn' in Iraq.
Retiring Senator Zell Miller, D-GA, will deliver the keynote address at the GOP Convention.
Dr. Condoleeza Rice talks with Sean Hannity (radio link) on military transformation.
The First Lady had a significant interview with Bill Sammon of The Washington Times, stating she believes life begins at conception and that she supports her husband's view on abortion. Asked if she was pro-life, she answered yes and stated abortion should be rare. "Mrs. Bush laughed incredulously when asked whether the press was fair and impartial in its coverage of a conservative such as President Bush. Her press secretary, Gordon Johndroe, laughed even more heartily." The twins will not be speaking at the GOP convention, she said. The short interview is worth the read. She described her husband as "very loving and compassionate and really sweet."
The interview excerpted further: "The first lady was asked whether she would be devastated if her husband lost. 'Yes, of course,' she said. 'Would we still have a life? Sure. Would we have a good life? Sure.' [Sammon asks:] Would Americans survive a Kerry presidency? 'They'll do a lot better,' she said, smiling ruefully, 'with a Bush re-election.'"
President Bush will be vacationing for a week at his ranch so we're not likely to be seeing a lot of the usual photos.
Enjoy your daily Dose of Team W @ Sanity Island!
snugs, are you still out there?
Good night and God Bless you Pippin
Yes I am for about another 30 minutes it is 6 minutes past 2 in the morning, I am not at work tomorrow as dad has a hospital appointment and I am going with him but do not have to be up early so can stay up late tonight.
I sure do understand that! The reason I really got involved with politics had to do with my outrage that Clinton was being considered for the WH. I simply can not believe that he served 2 terms, and I can't believe Hitlery is in the Senate! So now with Kerry, I just know we have to work hard to ensure he stays OUT! We can take nothing for granted anymore. The military issues mean too much to our families and our history.
Thanks Snugs. I saw Dick Morris. He has been pretty good with his commentaries! You know, I have this feeling the Clinton's were behind him getting set up with that hooker. I am glad he has been so verbal about them. Most people seem to hide in the woodwork rather than go up against the Clintons.
Yes, that is very worrisome.
I think a lot of people will finally start paying attention about a month or so before the election. Hopefully they will see the truth at that point!
kerry's lies are just SO bad that it's hard to believe an average American (who's not into politics) cannot easily see who he really is.
Also, I believe kerry's lies (and as Ken said, for over 35 years) will catch up to him. This is an election between an honorable man and a man who does not follow honor. Good will win! America will choose the correct man, GWB!!!!
Well, I hope the appointment goes well!
I'm glad you're able to stay up late, with us! I hope you still get plenty of sleep!
What I am seeing here in Minnesota seems to be a more apathetic Democrat party. There are a ton of Dems around here (Minnesota) and I get the feeling they are not very energetic this time around. They just seem angry and combative, but I don't think they will take the time to vote. I see almost no signs up to support Kerry. I have to go to one of his rallys if he has one around here. I want to see how the crowd responds to him...and whether there is a crowd! :)
I just love Dick Morris he is always worth listening to even if you do not always agree with him he always states his mind and does not worry about it being popular. Yes I do like the way he stands up to the Clintons it takes a brave man to do that. We have seen quite a bit of him in the UK recently because he has been involved with UKIP (UK Independence Party - anti European Community Membership).
Thank you at present I am not tired had a little nap earlier but I must try to go to bed in the next half hour so I do get a decent kip
Wow. Good for him helping with the UKIP. I have respect for him as well. I think the Clinton's hurt him in the one area he was vulnerable and he came out smelling like a rose. I give him a lot of credit.
kip?
Sorry this is an English say a good night's kip means a good night's sleep. Kip is just a slang word for sleep do not know where it comes from
Hey again, snugs!
That's in interesting question about Iran and British military action.
I know you do a lot of business with their country. And I'm sure their people are just fine! It's too bad that oppressive governments can get in the way of people who would otherwise have no problem with each other.
I don't know what to say about the situation. I think it would depend on the threat and the provocation whether or not Great Britain would get involved.
I'd be interested in your ideas.
In the meantime, I'm off! It's bedtime, and I've been busy this evening! Time to sleep.
God bless and good night!
I learned the word "kip" from Paul McCartney's classical piece he put out in the early 1990's.
It's an interesting word!
Yes it is time for me to go to bed to it is now 2.38 am in England.
God Bless of you at FR and God Bless America I will check in the morning to read the rest of the thread and then hopefully tomorrow nigh be up "live" again.
Bye bye
I don't watch much TV so I hadn't seen the vets saluting kerry. There's no accounting for taste, but, just what military rank does he hold to earn such a thing? Does a soldier / sailor / etc. salute a former officer in any circumstance?
Those are awesome photos. None on Yahoo showed the crowd so well.
What hour of the day do you take tea in your neck of the planet? And what is consumed in today's tea-taking? I've always wondered about that.
