Wonder if they'll change their mind, and if so, who the useful idiot will be.

Read the transcript from Crossfire yesterday and I think he even surprised Carlson with his ridiculous statements. It was just disgusting.

Hugh Hewitt played it numerous times on his radio show yesterday.

"How have they "destroyed" the story if they haven't even addressed the allegations?"

Here is how it works. The media assume any allegation against a Rat party member is made by Republicans and therefore probably false to begin with. No amount of evidence is enough to dispell the assumption that the Rat is innocent.
In contrast, any allegation against a Republican is assumed to be true, even thought it may be made by known Rat Party operatives. No evidence is necessary to convince the media that the charges are true and no amount of evidence is enough to disprove the charges.

It is all Bush's fault, that's my story and I am sticking to it.

The plan of the kerry camp is to ignore the Swift Boat Vets and play them as GOP dirty tricks. It is a good plan and if the left wing media (TV, print) play along it might work. Clearly the Swift Vets have been doing real damnage, can't fight them cause they have the truth (or most of the truth) on thier side, so may as well try to spin this story into a dirty trick story and hope for a back lash.

Kerry stepped in it big time today.
How so? Did I miss it -- I don't recall anything from today.

Kerry campaign fed hit piece to WP that came back like a boomerang and bit Kerry in the a$$ - proof that fraudulent reports were filed (in this case resulting in a citation for Thurlow, unbeknownst to him or anybody else at the time, as the medal wasn't even granted until several months later) and confirmation Kerry was indeed the one who completed - and thus the one lying - on the reports he filed behind the backs of all the other SwiftVets.

Bit the WP on the a$$, too :) They fell for it. Again. Hook, line, and sinker.

Also Kerry personally addressed their efforts, meaning that the media will have to cover this stuff. This was not smart.

"Perhaps, they think they have effectively destroyed the story."

IMHO...probably more like they got cold feet because they know their BS wouldn't stand up to the truth or the light of day.

Kerry is a real piece of work!

First, he is over in Vietnam, making home movies of himself as the pre-Rambo.

He comes back to the U.S., and proceeds to trash his "Brothers in Arms."

He throws someone else's medals over the White House fence, claiming that they are his own.

He makes up stories about being in Cambodia.

He runs for President, on a platform of his four months in Vietnam.

Yet, when someone dares question him, he whines about how he is being attacked and smeared.

Has anyone checked to see whether Kerry and Bill Clinton are related?

I think Kerry has that political disease of "How dare anyone question anything I say."

Kerry could have easily taken a few moments in his speech today to tell us specifically what the Swift Boat soldiers have said about him is a lie. He did not. Because he cannot.

So he will play the game the Democrats always play when they are in trouble.

They will attack the messenger. Or the timing. But they do not address the substance of the charge.
