Col. Bill Cowen is on with Brit. He's got both copies of the after action report that Kerry had re-written by the Sec. of the Navy 15 years later. He's got the original which was a broad report of what went on. The new one is a much more narrow report focusing specifically on Kerry and what he did that day.
He said it's very VERY unusual, but not unthinkable that someone from the DOD might accomodate a member of Congress because they need them to get along.
And
He says these records ARE available via the Navy. Not Kerry's records but the incident records detailing the events of the time he was there specific to his boat/crew and those that were around him. Those were generally written by the OIC and then added to by the other members, ie a radio operator or gunner would add their report and then they were filed with the Navy.
Brit says: "So a journalist wanting to investigate these dates/times/actions could get the information from the Navy"? Cowen says absolutely!
He also said the Navy gave out a silver star to enlisted men very sparingly. If you saw an enlisted man with a SS it would tell you he had done something extremely brave and worthwhile. Officers... well, those were handed out much more frequently and weren't as impressive. That was done to "Boost Morale".

Attachments BLOW KERRY'S LIES OUT OF THE WATER. KERRY OVERWROTE HIS AFTERACTION REPORT EMBELLISHING HIS REPORT FOR HIS SUPERIORS. HE GOT BRONZE STAR AND PURPLE HEART DUE TO SELF INFLICTED WOUNDS.
I hadn't heard this; Gardner came back from DC with a situation report (SITREP) from the Navy archives for the incident with the sampan. Kerry declared there were 4 enemy who "jumped off the boat and ran ashore" in addition to those KIA. He also declared the small boat (30' long canoe like) had 5500 LBS of contraband (meaning the weight of a good size automobile).
Gardner has some kind of SitRep [Situation Report] that the Kerry supporters haven't seen. This SitRep apparently contradicts Kerry regarding the shooting of the family on a boat. The Rassman Bronze star/PH incident had to generate more than 1 SitRep - there were 5 swifts there - and these guys have the documents to prove that Kerry filed false reports.
Gardner: There is absolutely no way Kerry went up the river into Cambodia, because the river had barriers in it that made entry impossible.
Kerry is screwed.
