August 19, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Laci Peterson's furious mother called her son-in-law a "f---ing liar" and begged him to tell her where he ditched the body, it was revealed yesterday as Scott Peterson's murder trial screeched to a halt due to a mysterious "potential development Sharon Rocha became convinced of Peterson's guilt in January 2003, not long after his affair with Amber Frey became public.

SNIP IT:
"Wednesday's proceedings were delayed almost an hour, with only family members, defense staff and police and prosecution personnel allowed into the courtroom.
About that same time, a prosecution representative phoned the Stanislaus County public defender's office to ask if the office had two compact discs containing 6,000 pages of documents in the case, a source there said. Two other sources confirmed that the inquiry was made.
The public defender's office represented Peterson for less than two weeks shortly after he was arrested in April 2003, before Los Angeles attorney Mark Geragos took the case.
Prosecutors never provided any material on compact discs to the public defender's office, two sources said.
It was unclear if the trial delay was connected to".......

Bombshell puts Scott trial on hold
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Scott Peterson's double-murder trial was suddenly suspended yesterday because of a surprise development that apparently involves his lover.
"There's been a potential development in the case that has to be checked out before we can go any further," said the apologetic judge, Al Delucchi, who refused to provide any other details.
Peterson's mistress, Fresno masseuse Amber Frey, looked stunned during the announcement as she sat next to her lawyer, waiting to be cross-examined by defense attorney Mark Geragos.
Frey's attorney, Gloria Allred, said she ......

Licking their chops?
Scott Peterson's defense attorney will have to wait until next week to cross-examine Amber Frey, the prosecution's star witness and Peterson's former mistress. Judge Alfred Delucchi, profusely apologizing to the six-man, six-woman jury, canceled testimony for the day because he and lawyers needed to sort out unspecified evidentiary matters. Other witnesses are scheduled for Thursday, and court is adjourned on Fridays. Frey is expected back on the stand Monday.

Jury in Peterson trial hears final Frey tapes
Jury hears final Frey
By Jason Dearen, STAFF WRITER
REDWOOD CITY -- Scott Peterson showered gifts on Amber Frey for her birthday and offered to pay her rent and send her on a luxury vacation as scores of volunteers and police officers continued their search for his missing pregnant wife, according to the final group of secretly taped phone calls played Tues- day in Peterson's double-murder trial.
Prosecutors ended their direct examination of the Fresno woman after six full days of testimony, including the hours of recorded calls. Prosecutors played only a small portion of the more than 200 recorded phone calls she taped starting Dec. 30, 2002.
Peterson left a bag of gifts including a necklace in a silver jewelry box, a Norah Jones CD and a carton of Hummingbird Butterfly wildflower seeds in the parking lot of a children's hospital in Fresno on Frey's birthday, Feb. 10, 2003.
Then he called Frey and told her where to find the gifts.
"And also I don't know how financially it is for you, and do you need help with, you know, paying for the office or rent or anything like that?" Peterson asked. Frey refused his offer and said she could never ask anyone to help her financially.
Peterson's defense begins its cross-examination of the Fresno massage therapist today. If convicted of murdering Laci Peterson and his unborn child, Peterson could receive the death penalty........

Tapes Show Peterson Suspicious of Calls
SNIP IT:
"In a call Feb. 7, 2003, played in court Tuesday, Peterson tells Frey he is spending the night in Sacramento and will call her the next day from a pay phone.
Frey asks Peterson why he is going to Sacramento.
"I can tell you but not on these phones," Peterson replies, in an apparent reference to his calls being listened to. It was unclear whether Peterson knew Frey was taping him.
In a later call, Peterson expresses frustration that Laci's family "is ".........
Is that all, she probably said a lot more than that. I'm still waiting to hear what this "potential development" is, perhaps results of fingerprints or other tests that may further prove Peterson's guilt or even exonerate him? I seriously doubt it has anything to do with a plea bargain.
In taped call, Scott Peterson tearfully begged mistress for secret meeting

Court TV
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Ostracized by his missing wife's family and dogged by suspicious police, Scott Peterson tearfully begged his mistress for a secret rendezvous at a lakeside resort.
"We just need to see each other, Amber, at least for a couple hours," Peterson told his erstwhile paramour, Amber Frey, in a Feb. 7, 2003, phone call played Tuesday at his capital murder trial.
At times sobbing, Peterson told the massage therapist there were things he could not tell her over the phone, and he urged her to meet him at a family friend's cabin in Lake Arrowhead, a five-hour drive from her Fresno home and more than 400 miles from Modesto, the epicenter of the search for Laci Peterson.
"I just think it would help tremendously in the stuff we're going through," Peterson told her. "I've never felt such a strong desire as I do.".......
That should be the title for all threads about either of the Clintons.
Darn, more Peterson stuff. I was thinking this was about Kerry.
ROFLMBBO!
You know with that title, everyone will be checking this thread thinking it's either about Kerry or the Clintons.
Not sure if this is the only thing Geragos is wanting to know if this has anything to do in relation in freeing his client?
kind of seems similar doesn't it? .... Yep, the NYPOST is good for good titles!
fyi all, I'll be on a mini vacation over the weekend. Hubby wanted to visit Las Vegas.... Viva Las Vegas!! ;o) Never been there! Should be fun, excluding the humid heat!
From the headline I assumed that this was another John Fabricatin' Kerry thread.
Never mind.
NO BLOOD FOR KETCHUP!
I'd be very suprised to see the prosecution free Peterson at this point unless they had irrefutable proof he's not involved.
ROFL.... sorry... ;o)
just keep your positive thoughts... The DA doesn't always get things wrong. Besides, I think this delay will benefit Amber in relaxing/resting. A good break for her. That way, maybe she can handle any of Geragos stupid attacks!
won't happened as far as I can read into this!
