Lemme get this straight, NY State has shotgun only areas? Who drafted that legislation and why? Yes it does. Who drafted it? I have no idea. But as I understand it, the reason is because these areas have population centers and rifle rounds can easily carry into them where a shotgun slug is going no more than 100 yards.

Okay. That clears it up. How dense is the population in upstate NYC? Is there a small amount of wide open space or do hunting areas come close to populated areas?
