The Bush hating wack jobs are planning something big for NYC. One must see their websites to get an inkling of what nastiness they are up to...

So?
They threatened a million people here in DC a few months back.
About 100K showed up.
And if they snarl traffic worse than it is and riot, it will backfire on them. Normal people hate protestors.

You're right. Can you imagine being an undecided voter in Michigan or Missouri and seeing these morons smashing storefront windows, hurling expletives at delegates? No way will this go over well with middle America.

"This will only backfire against the Democrats." Agreed. They are likely to show their stupidity, hatred and violence, much to the distaste of the mushy middle in swing states who will conclusively decide for Bush as a result.

It won't be anything close to a million. They'll be there, but I think the NYPD isn't going to put up with too much illegal extra-curriculars.
Also, the worse they behave, the more "swing voters" can see the face of the left.
Wood shampoos for any violent "peace protesters."

Heard a potential protestor on the radio this morning, said that CNN will give them coverage so it hurts Bush.
Logical no, but then these people are insane to begin with.

They'll be lucky if they get 10% of that number. Rent-a-Mobs and bussed in anarchists only add up to so many.

This could be really interesting. I almost hope they get their million, just to make it a fun convention.

I agree that this will probably backfire on them, but I still think it was stupid to hold the convention in NYC. It's in the wrong color zone.

Put them in a fenced area under an overpass like the Dems did in Boston.

This will only backfire against the Democrats. I hope you folks are right. Sometimes I think I live in bizarro world where Hoolywood idiots, liberal talking heads, and print media people are fighting Bush and hating America while we try to fight terrorism. And somehow the other side gets traction and respect on cable news shows? Sometimes I think I live in a world gone mad, especailly after 911.

but I still think it was stupid to hold the convention in NYC. It's in the wrong color zone. Doesn't matter where they hold the convention those people would be coming to any town they hold it in, Florida, Texas, Georgia, etc. They would swarm all over. It's Repubs and Bush they hate - not the cities.
