Poland has been a staunch ally of America since the Revolutionary War, She is the longest standing ally of the USA.

They should apologize. The Canucks think they're so intellectually superior and don't even realize what a horrible gaff they made.

Well your comment was as good as the canadian one, you wrote "if it's in Poland, it must be Polish"...

and I wasn't the only one that was "moved" with some comments here...

Locals didn't do anything? Geez, I'm speachless. They were in the camps as well, doc. They were tortured by gestapo, deportated, killed on the streets for no reason, they were f...g occupied. But they had sent a messenger, Jan Karski to the US and he reproted about the death camps and its locations. Of course the allies decided not to do anything about this just like during the Warsaw Uprising '44.
Why is that Poland suffered so much during the war and even now it must fight with the common opinion it participated ub extermination of Jews during the war? It's the biggest b/s I can imagine...

Awwwwww, nope.

Auschwitz was liberated by the Red Army in January of 1945.

American troops never made it as far as Poland (hence the Warsaw Pact - Iron curtain,,,, you know, the Cold War. Ring a Bell?)

Auschwitz was a GERMAN run, concentration camp in GERMAN occupied Poland

The Poles have a right to be sore about the CTV representation.

Nazi German concentration camp in Poland as a "Polish camp."

Maybe if the majority of the inmates was Jewish it should be named "Jewish camp"? Makes sense.

You are correct about what the Americans did, but the camp was somewhere in western Germany.

BTW, at that time Auschwitz was part of the German territory - border of occupied Poland (Generalgouvernement Polen) was further to the east.
