... The U.S. military today is eating its seed corn. If we can't afford to plan for tomorrow, then what happens when tomorrow comes?
This is a sobering question to ask, in light of recent events. For example, Philippine military forces began to pull out of Iraq after bowing to the demands of terrorists who had kidnapped a Philippine citizen and threatened to kill him.
Meanwhile, ominous clouds continue to gather over Iran, right next door to Iraq. Hassan Abassi, head of the Revolutionary Guards' Center for Doctrinaire Affairs of National Security outside Iran's Borders, has made no secret of his animosity toward the United States and his willingness to bring violence against U.S. citizens here and abroad.
In a statement, Abassi said, "We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization." When and if that strategy unfolds, how prepared will American forces be to meet it?

This has been posted at least once in the last few weeks; expect some guff from the Repost Curmudgeons.
Personally, I don't think it's OK for a representative of any government to publicly call for, and indeed plan for, the utter destruction of an entire civilization.
Um, hey UN- wanna say something to that effect to the peace-loving Islamic paradise that is Iran?
Ohh, I'm so scared. As the Marines wipe out thousands of terrorists in Iraq, exactly what are the terrorists eating? I could write it, but it would be against the rules here and I don't like to swear anyway.
"In a statement, Abassi said, "We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization." When and if that strategy unfolds, how prepared will American forces be to meet it?"
Maybe this guy needs to re-read the history of WWII and maybe he will understand just how 'prepared' we can be when we have to.
"We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization."

Bigger men than you have tried, Hassan. Somehow, our God always brings forth a Charles Martel or a Jan Sobieski or a Don John when we need him the most. Keep in mind, Hassan, that our civilization could melt yours into glass with the turn of a key; the only thing that's keeping you and your civilization alive is our civilizations remaining adherence to Judeo-Christian values.
Ill stack our Anglo-Saxon (Celt, Teuton, Slav, Hispanic) civilization against yours any day, Hassan. As someone once said: Bring it on.
