The Cambodian candidate
Washington Times ^ | August 18, 2004 | Tony Blankley

Posted on 08/18/2004 4:43:41 AM PDT by CT

Only a few short weeks ago John Kerry was enjoying the temperate climate and familiar old stones of his native Boston. But now, as if in a Twilight Zone nightmare, he finds himself stumbling about, half lost in the steamy jungles of the Mekong Delta. It's 1968 again, or is it 1969?

Christmas in Cambodia was seared into his conscious. But now that he had do disavow this because of his diary entries, his lies are seared into his campaign.

Kerry Lies

War Criminal or War Hero,
See both you cannot be.
You claimed you burned a village,
Sounds like a crime to me.
Cambodia in Sixty-Eight,
You say that you were there.
You said Nixon said you weren’t,
Just why would Nixon care?
He wasn’t even president,
Till Nineteen Sixty-Nine.
But details never bother you,
Bold lies do suit you fine.
Three Purple Hearts for paper cuts,
A Bronze and Silver Star.
Then home you came, threw them away,
But look now, there they are.
You testified with still more lies,
About brave fighting men.
The things you claimed that they did,
Just aren’t true now or then.
So tell us please John Kerry,
Which lie we should believe.
Oh what a tangled web you weave,
You practice to deceive.

"He was a ferry master, a drop off guy, but it was dangerous as hell."

(rhetorical questions) Where are Kerry's crewmates who were on those missions? Do they back up his story? (/rhetorical questions)

I'm waiting for a aged Playboy Bunny to come out of the woodwork and tell how Kerry rescued her from a downed Special Services helicopter and then sold her into slavery to an insane French plantation owner.

From the WSJ this morning:

Remember when John Kerry went to the prom and got doused with pig's blood? Oh wait, sorry, that wasn't Kerry; it was Carrie, Sissy Spacek's character in the eponymous 1976 film. We regret the error.

Another Kerry recollection:

When he was young, he had this new slingshot and he killed a bird who had three baby birds and his dad, who was a sheriff, sent him to his room where after pondering the predicament, asked his dad if he could adopt the baby birds and name them "Winkin", "Blinkin" and "Nod" and then...Oh wait a minute, that was Opie, the Kommitte regrets the error.

Are you sure it wasn't Bob Kerry? I understand he attended 4 times as many proms as John Kerry....

Nice closing sentence, Mr. Blankley: " I love the smell of political lies in the morning. The smell, you know ... smells like ... defeat. " Kudos.

All Kerry needs to do is get his 8mm camera out, put on some Army fatigues, carry his M-16 the wrong way, hire a Santa Claus and film away. Then he can run an ad "Kerry in Cambodia During Christmas." Maybe he can ask Bob Hope to stand in the background.

That should work, right?

"He was a ferry master, a drop off guy, but it was dangerous as hell."

Black ops there probably involved indigenous guides and undercover garments, and certainly not clownish liberal inspector Cluzo Kerry to do the drop off.... talk about a secret mission, not.

You nailed it. Although Kerry is on about the 10th version of these events, his shipmates have always had one version -- they were never in Cambodia on Dec. 24, 1968. But according to the MSM, Kerry's version (pick any version you like) is the "truth". Just ask Chris Matthews.

From Scrappleface:

Viet Cong Vets for Kerry Refute Swiftboat Book (2004-08-05) -- To preempt the release of a new book questioning John Forbes Kerry's account of his service in Vietnam, the Kerry-Edwards presidential campaign announced it had received the endorsement of yet another military veterans group.

Viet Cong Veterans for Kerry (VCVFK), an ad hoc group of North Vietnamese soldiers who served in the early 1970s, said their support is "payback for all Mr. Kerry did for us in his 1971 testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He almost single-handedly put an end to U.S. atrocities against innocent Viet Cong soldiers and their families."

The Viet Cong veterans' support comes at a crucial time for the Kerry-Edwards campaign, just days before the release of Unfit for Command : Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry.

"Despite what the American swiftboat veterans claim, we know that John Kerry is a true leader who lifted our morale at a time when we were concerned that we might lose the war," said an unnamed spokesman for VCVFK. "He is not a narrow nationalist who believes that America is always right. He's willing--even eager--to admit his own nation's shortcomings. This is the kind of man we need in the White House."

Kerry's orders ...

Your mission is to proceed up the Nung River in a Navy patrol boat. Pick up Colonel Kurtz's path at Nu Mung Ba, follow it and learn what you can along the way. When you find the Colonel, infiltrate his team by whatever means available and terminate the Colonel's command.

No, wait. That was from Apocalypse Now ... or was it? Dear diary, I get so confused ... I wish I had someone to make me a PB&J sammich.

Yeah, except Bob Hope is dead. Kind of like Kerry's campaign now :-)

LTJG's in charge of a small patrol boat do not undertake secret missions without the knowledge and approval of their superiors. Kerry's chain of command adamantly denies ever sending anyone, including Kerry, on missions into Cambodia. Kerry's story is pure fantasy.

...carry his M-16 the wrong way,...

Hey, sarge. Could you elaborate on that point for those of us who've never carried one?

Are there any other glaring weirdnesses in his home movies? The fatigues and the bandoliers look a little strange to me, especially for a Navy officer to be wearing them. Is there anything else in the films that really stands out as bogus?

In the quest for truth-in-advertising, John Kerry should change his name to "Walter Mitty" Kerry!
