Note: this is No. 1 in a series that will be exploring Kerry-tales. Please add your links for this item.
===========================================

The Kerry camp is very, very afraid of UNFIT FOR COMMAND. They are trying to paint co-author John O'Neill as a Republican or Bush operative. Here are a few of the facts:

-- O'Neill gave $7,000 to republicans, and $25,000 to Democrats in the last 15 years.

-- O'Neill has not voted for the GOP presidential candidate since 1988 and voted for Al Gore in 2000.

I didn't say he worked for Kerry's law firm

Gads! I typed Kerry instead of "O'Neill". Duh! The John O'Neill I was referring to does not work for the same law firm that John O'Neill who wrote the book does. There are three John O'Neill's in the Houston area.

Nonsense. O'Neill has been on Kerry's ass for the last 30 years about his phony war record and his treasonous anti-war activities thereafter.

That's nonsense. O'Neill has not "been on Kerry's ass for the last 30 years". He did debate Kerry on Dick Cavett but past that he has done nothing regarding Kerry until recently. O'Neill has said that he has been asked to come out against Kerry in Kerry's past campaigns but did not.

A few months ago O'Neill was in the hospital donating a kidney to his wife. He was recovering from that in the hospital and saw Kerry on TV. Once he realized that Kerry had a shot at president/CIC he started to speak again.

Saying that O'Neill has been after Kerry fro 30 years is a bogus Democratic talking point! Total fabrication.

Well, there is a Jack O'Neill who is also a partner at John O'Neill's law firm, Clements, O'Neill, Pierce, Wilson & Fulkerson L.L.P. According to Newsmeat, a John E. O'Neill gave money to Bush/Quayle and the Texas Republican Congressional Committee. There is no record that either John O'Neill gave money to Democrats running for federal office. Any Democrats John O'Neill gave to must be state and local politicians.

Any Democrats John O'Neill gave to must be state and local politicians.

The examples he gave were

Dwayne Sands from the Navel Academy and Bill White (D) - Mayor of Houston

He gave more money to Dems then Republicans in the 15 years period .. around $25,000 to Dems and $7,000 to Republicans

I bet the John O'Neill that gave $$$ to Republicans is the one I know. I'd ask him but he's working for a company in the ME. You only get one guess what company:)

"He cannot allow his "Band of Brothers" give interviews alone because they would get tripped up in one of their lies."

Yea, it'll blow the future movie deals by Kerry's friend and then Kerry blows his 1/2% chance of getting in the White House and the "Band of Brothers" blow their royalties.

Duane Sand is listed as a Republican running for Congress from North Dakota. Many Houston area local politicians (and Texas state politicians, until recently) are Democrats. So O'Neill's story is not totally far fetched.
