there is only one government stat that is important for Bush - the jobs report that comes out the morning after his convention speech. if that number is, god forbid, negative - the media will go into "is the economy headed into recession?" mantra if there is a report showing negative job growth.
we need a decent number on the 9/3 jobs report.

Don't get too giddy. The MSM will pick these reports apart for everything bad and report only that.

Didn't Kerry have a "misery index" using Kerry's criteria. I would love to see Dubya do an ad showing what the index is now compared to when he took office.
He could even use one of those Perot type charts-I thought they were pretty effective with the sheeple.

So "It's NOT the economy, stupid!" LOL W's just not giving them a platform to stand on. Every vote for Kerry in Nov. will not be a vote for Kerry but merely a vote against Bush but those who just don't get it.

Tom Daschle is deeply saddened.

The lower unemployment rate would be good as well, as long as Bush campaigned on it.

A nice fat August jobs number right after the RNC would help too.

You are correct on the ramifications of the 9/3 report, but I am cautiously optimistic. The Prez is due for a good jobs report after the softness in June and July.
