Amazon.com has pulled all the reviews (good and bad) for Unfit for Command!
Just went to read today's batch of DU/DNC tripe and sure enough -- they are ALL GONE.
I think the bottom line is that Amazon wants to sell books.
I read through them about an hour ago - twenty glowing reviews, and one DUmmy rant...
Judging by what passes for commentary on DU, no big loss.
WTF?? I think it's Freeping time.
Remember, Amazon.com has been hacked before by changing the title to "Fit for Comman". Maybe its another hack job.
Amazon's customer reviews have taken a lot of criticism. In fact, I closed out my account after reading the nonsense posted by obvious DU'ers and I don't purchase from them anymore. I sent them the appropriate email to explain my departure. So does this mean that they won't post comments on political books?
That was Barnes and NOble. :)
Anonymous 'reader' reviews of controversial books are generally useless. They're based more on the reviewers' biases than the content of the book.
It appears to me that on certain controversial books people have a tendency to use Amazon.com as a soapbox, even if they haven't read the book. This is true of both sides of the political spectrum, though I admit the left seems to be guilty more than the right.
Good for Amazon.
Dirty play on Amazon's part.
If Amazon's being hacked, it's from inside.
That's right, it was Barnes and Noble. Well, Amazon could have been hacked too.
Has Amazon.com pulled reviews of all books of just this one?
They have a deal to buy this book and "American Soldier" for $38.. The recommendations for other books is still there..
Over on DU, they've got some crazy conspiracy about how Regnery Publishing, the publisher of the Swift Boat book, is connected to some racist group because of one mention of a William Regnery in Florida who runs some whites-only website. Unfortunately for the DUmmies, they've got it all wrong: that Regnery is not connected in any way to the publishing company. Alfred Regnery used to run Regnery Publishing, but not any more (He's at the American Spectator now). And this William isn't Alfred's brother, and isn't connected with the company, and never was, and doesn't own any stock (Regnery Publishing is a division of Eagle Publishing which is a division of Phillips Publishing, a major media conglomerate). Alfred had a brother named Henry, who died in the late 1970s in a commercial airliner crash. They're going crazy with the conspiracy theories over there at DU... One name is the same, and that's enough. In their eyes, Bush's Baked Beans must be connected with the President...
What is this "DU"? Is it a particular site or is it a catch-all acronym for lefty sites?
If it's a particular site, they need to meet with a Freeper tsunami.
Not only are all the comments gone but if you put in Unfit For Command WITHOUT quote marks the first entry is Tommy Franks book, followed by the 911 report and then Michael Moore Is A Big Fat Stupid White Man.

Only if you put it in quotes does it pop up first.
What Leninist, Maoist, Marxist, Orwellian BS is this!
I am emailing Amazon right now to tell them I will never buy from them again. I don't care if their head honcho is a liberal or not - as long as they don't make specific censorship decisions - towards right OR left-oriented books.
Guess I'll have to write another one when I get home.
Well, it does look a little suspicious when there are twenty scathing, ranting critical reviews on the day the book is released.
Either those reviewers are the fastest readers in the world and all share a common political philosophy, or the Dems sent out their talking points and marching orders.
