Is Steven Tyler a Republican???

That surprises me but I do like Aerosmith.

Hate to say it, but this sounds lame. Come on we can do better than that.

No, I'm thinking of "Independence Day," recorded by Martina McBride. You can find the video on CMT.com and watch it yourself, or read the lyrics.

We could have Steven Tyler, Charlie Daniels, and Wayne newton to make it more exciting.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss are also Bush supporters, but they might scare the kiddies.

"I hope it's been verified that Michael Reagan is going to speak."

I like listening to Michael Reagan. He speaks from his heart. He can talk about the great Reagan legacy of which he is a part, while maintaining a humble and unpretentious demeanor. What a great blessing that the good Lord, in His infinite grace, brought them together.

Michael Reagan says what he means, and means what he says.

Well, this appears to be the *first* group of entertainers. Six folks won't last the whole convention. I'd guess these were the first group to get their contracts finalized.

Light up a doob and listen to some Michael W. Smith, cap'n.

Some one I saw live two years ago, with my 8 and 6 year old kids. Smitty has sold a few million more CD's over the last few years than the burn out, light up, and f***-up your life "classic" rockers. You know, entertainment that is actually entertaining, supports functional family values, and is'nt disgusting.

Ohhh, oooooopppss, my bad, cap'n. Go ahead and listen to the Stones, never mind, its just a bad dream you'll forget about soon.

Right on! But, of course, me being one of them thar right wing extremist christian fundamentalist whackos (aka, "The Party Base), I actually LIKE Micheal W. Smith.

Michael W. Smith sang his song "Friends" at the Columbine memorial. Afterwards he wrote the song, "This is Your Time" inspired by Cassie Burnall's life, one of the victims. He sang it at Payne Stewart's memorial. I love that song. Beautiful bagpipes.

But I bet you already knew that, CC. :)

Hmmmmm,

We had a better line-up at the Ohio State Fair, (only slightly)

Yep, that's what I thought. Thanks for reinforcing that for me. So few people in the entertainment business to respect.

ok, ok, i admit i dont even know who Michael Smith is...i do appreciate Christian music...AND i do like the stones, but we shouldnt be trying to be "preaching to the choir" at the RNC convention...we should be trying to sway the hearts and minds of the undecided....and with this line-up...well...our ratings may be even lower than the demoncrat convention...

That was a peculiar juxtaposition of phrases, buddy, "appreciate christian music" and "don't know who Michael W. Smith is".

Smitty is one of the rare Christian performers that also has crossed over into pop, without losing his "street cred" with us Bible thumpin types (unlike Amy Grant, who is viewed with some suspicion by many christians). His stuff is a little too pop for me, but his last two albums "Worship I and More Worship" are outstanding.

I would'nt mind seeing some Steven Curtiss Chapman, Jars of Clay, NewsBoys, or Rebecca St. James at the convention. Of course, as far as I'm concerned, Jessica Simpson is always welcome to return to her roots and belt out a couple of contemporary christian numbers, too. ;-)
