August 17, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Stunning new phone tapes from Scott Peterson's slay trial yesterday depicted his miffed mistress demanding to know if he slept with wife Laci the night before she vanished and Peterson insisting he told Laci about their affair after their first date.

Oh, yeah--those trips to the Bay, I was just thinking about those.
I think the consensus is that he was repeatedly going out there b/c he was anxious that something might float up, um, a little too soon, and he wanted to know the bad news immediately.
It occurred to me that maybe that's also the answer to why he continued to call Amber even after their conversations turned into her raising her voice to him and demanding information. I think he wanted to keep in close touch so that he would know immediately if she was going to do anything detrimental to him.
Tradecorp is a Spanish company trying to get a market here..Those were Tradecorp people, his bosses.
SNIP IT:
"Later, jurors heard a tape of Frey reading Peterson a letter he wrote to her.
"Seeds into your life are soon to bloom ... first joy will be ... I said you deserve wondrous ecstasies in all aspects of your life. All these things will be yours soon," Frey read.
Back on the stand, Frey detailed a call from Peterson on her birthday, Feb. 10.
Peterson told her to find a light post with purple flowers next to it in the parking lot of an area hospital where "there would be a package there for me."
Frey said he had left her a bag of gifts, including a necklace, perfume, a CD and wild flower seed mix, photos of which were shown to jurors.
Judge Alfred A. Delucchi sent jurors home early so attorneys could conduct a closed-door hearing about the scope of the defense cross-examination of Frey, set to begin Wednesday.
Delucchi ruled that defense lawyers could not question Frey about relationships she had before or after meeting Peterson unless they were discussed on the wiretaps.
Yes, there is something totally off-kilter, something very strange, about the way he never finally gets sick of people being nasty with him. Amber got nasty with him. Sharon and Ron did, too. He takes it and takes it, and never seems to get mad, as a normal person would do. He is SO UNLIKE normal people.
"homeless OBGYN'S"---ROFL, that's a good one, Jackie!!!
They push brand new Mercedes shopping carts!
I will just quote Geoffrey Feiger for you from today: "NO REASONABLE JURY COULD EVER ACQUIT THIS MAN"!! Feiger is a Defense Attorney who has won Lot of cases. He doesn't think much of Geragos and his Lawyering skills. WHO ever heard of Geragos before Clinton's scandals? Nobody. The guy is very over rated. He continually struts around like a peacock making grandiose promises that he NEVER delivers on. Like we are still waiting for Wynona's receipts Mark. We are still waiting for Roger Clinton's tape of being mistreated by the police, etc. The difference between the Prosecution and the Defense in THIS trial is tantamount to the Tortoise and the Hare. Geragos is of course the blowhard, barge forward Hare. Distaso is the slower, methodical and steady tortoise who is completely underestimated. What do you know, the Hare self destructs and the tortoise plods across the finish line to win. Make no mistake, Distaso is an extremely good Prosescutor. He's a very disciplined former Military Prosecutor. He knows the details of this case intimately. Just wait for his Closing Arguments when he ties it all together. I even have to check myself sometimes. We, as a public have come to expect that to win a case we MUST have some major amount of BLOOD, or a confession or something BIG. NO, we need only to pass the reasonable doubt threshold and that frankly has already been done here. Geragos started out promising to solve the case and bring the real KILLER to justice. Why he was going to arrest that perp in the next day or perhaps even just hours away. That was 20 months ago. Relax. The Jury will hopefully do their duty and deliberate. Geragos even painted himself into a corner in his opening statement AGAIN promising to solve this case. That is the stupidest thing a Defense Attorney could ever do. The Jury will now expect him to present the real killer if it isn't Peterson. Well, lo and behold he hasn't even come close and nor will he.
I must be the only person who still thinks that whole thing was strange, given Scott had a missing, pregnant wife.
Thanks for the info.
Finally the Modesto Bee puts them on their website.... ;o)
I want the transcript Cathryn Crier read today,
wherein Sharon Rocha told off SP but good.
We thought it was strange but it paled compared to some of the rest of his behavior that he exibited later...
On O'Reilly just now (Kasich hosting), Aphrodite Jones, of all people, was struggling to be heard with a point or two about what's going on. She was trying to tell us that there was word that Scott DID give Amber jewelry for Valentine's Day, and that Scott was indeed stalking Amber--that is, hovering in the area of her home.
But that painted Geragos shill, Stan Goldman, kept cutting her off. He had to squeeze in the latest Geragos message, which was, *gasp*, that supposedly some of the things Amber was asking Scott were "scripted" by the police.
Aphrodite insisted that that was not the case.
We know the police were not sitting there with Amber b/c, as another poster somewhere pointed out, Amber's phone records show she would call Det. Buehler after most calls. She was just reporting in, I imagine. If I had a potential murderer urging me to "go to Arrowhead Lake" with him, I think I'd keep in close contact with the police, too.
Next question: WHAT jewelry did he give Amber?
I believe the jewelry was for her birthday. He left a package in a hospital parking lot for her. It contained a card, necklace, perfume and a Norah Jones CD. I may have missed something else.....
just remembered the something else..wildflower seeds.

While the international businessmen from Tradecorp were in town, Scott took them to the bar/restaurant of the Red Lion, the same hotel which hosted the search center for Laci. He spent several hours with them in the bar, laughing and socializing, and was heard talking about how he was going to take them on a tour of San Francisco the following day. This was long before his wife's body was found, while the rest of the people were still semi-hysterically running around trying to find her.
he seems to take all the abuse whereas an innocent person woud be besides themself being blamed for something so heinous.
Any relationship Amber mentioned in the tapes can be brought up I read in runningbear's new article.
I don't think the gifts were particularly noteworthy..just another example of his hanging on.
I heard he left it on Feb. 10? Yes, I see now, that was her birthday.
He was feeling awfully frisky considering that, according to what he supposedly believed, Laci was probably somewhere in labor, with no one she knew to be with her.
Wonder if the necklace was from Laci's jewelry?
