Okay, he's up early and checking his e-mail, so I got this reply:

Oh yes it will pop wheelies. When Jimmy & I got the porche 2300 lb clutch & pressure plate & when for a test run I turned the corner & stuck my foot in it we went airborn & tore the rag top off the thinh & Jimmy trying to hold on to it I told him " no parasailing , we could get a ticket"as he didnt have his seatbelt on, Ha! The motor is a 63 Olds F-85 alunimum block V-8 with no motor mounts, do you remember the skid bars under the rear end where the motor & rear bumper meet????? I figurethe Kubelwagen only weighs about 1100 lbs with all that HP , no problem, Ha!

I just guess it's in how he drives it. Never seen him lose control of the front end, and we've been in some wild back country with it.

Don't try this at home. (Reminds me of seeing an 85 HP Evinrude on a 4-man rubber raft. Actually, that makes more sense, since the raft was used as a launch for a 40' yacht, the Evinrude could be used in case of a motor failure on the yacht, assuming it had some kinda mount.)
