Tom McNamara/ KVOA Television Arizona/ August 13, 2004 The stories are compelling and the evidence is frightening, and just this week, Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo released a report showing that the problem is worse than anyone thought. Here's what the Eyewitness News 4 Investigators uncovered. "It's a Muslim prayer blanket. It was found about a mile and a half west from the Douglas port of entry in 2001." Vance says, "Other log books, diary-type things, other bits and pieces of paper with Arabic written on them found in the area over the last few years. They pay to learn Spanish language skills, and by the time they reach the U.S., they're acting and talking like Mexicans to fool border agents.
And in less than a month your beloved Assault Weapons Ban expires despite the efforts of you gun-grabbers.
Bumpity Bump!
Hey, thanks for reading my home page rant!
Boy, that sounds like a plan. Bring soldiers home and have them guard the border.
People will protect home and property. There'll be incidents, illegals killed, more Mexican army incursions into this country. It's invasion, folks, soon to be followed by gunfire, lawsuits (by the illegals), and finally Mexico's comeuppance. Better late than never.
Apparently it has escaped some on this thread that this is a conservative forum.
We are neither anxious to elect a liberal Democrat nor support a Republican who has lost his way and doesn't appear willing to return.
My advice is to provide affirmative support for your candidate and stay out of the discussions among the adults about illegal immigration. You appear to lack both the temperament and the knowledge to participate and are simply reflecting badly on your party cause
Pretty much all of the presidents since prior to Woodrow Wilson have failed to protect the Constitution.
"That 'protect' part is lacking under the current Administration"
I totally disagree with you!!
"I know it has been said before , but it bears repeating : use our military ( for example the people they'll be pulling out of Europe and elsewhere ) to guard and protect our border with Mexico , and round up as many illegals as possible that are already here and ship 'em back . Time to take back our country NOW ! We the people must fervently DEMAND this of our so called " leaders " inc. the President . What are we waiting for ?"
Unfortunately the answer you are asking will most likely be answered by either a truck bomb, a chem or bio attack on a crowded subway, or a mushroom cloud over one of our cities.
If this does happen then you are going to see this country do one of 2 things.
1. Fall Apart
2. Change Governments
I don't see a scenario in which a third possibility is likely.
bttt
Well enjoy it while you can. In three months President Bush will win reelection despite your efforts to undermine his base and all of you can crawl back under your rocks for another four years.
Typical response from the "don't get it" crowd.
Why is it that you people can't understand that our nation is at stake and the current resident of the white house is the one that will be blamed if another attack takes place on our soil?
Why is it that regardless of our vulnerabilities, you see nothing wrong with the way he is "protecting" our southern borders?
" You're hanging with a crowd that has as its goal the election of John Kerry."
What a load of hooey
This is a conservative forum and it is entirely proper to point out when people are continuously bashing the only conservative Presidential candidate in the race.
If you are interested in discussing the role of Bush haters on FreeRepublic there is another thread you might try.
Just like four years ago, the election is between George Bush and the liberal Democrat. There is no middle position.
And who's fault is that?
While many on this forum were warning Republicans loyalits that Bush was seriously lacking conservative credentials in at least one critical area they were abused and disregarded by those (you) party loyalists. These warnings came with a two year lead time to mount a credible challenge to Bush in the primaries. A challenge might not have been successful but it likely would have forced him to retreat from his dabbling with the dark side.
Presently your candidate meets the definition of the hero in a Greek tragedy. He's a champion on all fronts but has one fatal flaw. That flaw is encouraging illegal immigration and that flaw, left unchecked, will destroy this country from without and within (civil war).
Question: When is it advisable to listen to a "single issue" protagonist.
Answer: Before you are soooo up to your ass in alligators that it's too late.
A prayer rug and Arabic writing is all one needs to know.
Where there's smoke, there's fire.
Honest people can have honest disagreements on important issues. Governing strategists can differ on which goals are achievable and which are not. Political consultants can have opposite opinions on what a candidate has to do in order to win the election.
President Bush isn't going to totally satisfy the single-issue extremists demanding that the Southern border, Northern border, three coasts and Great Lakes be totally sealed immediately. And the Buchanan supporters will always hate him because they believe that he did something (what they can't say) that unfairly kept Republican voters from nominating Buchanan.
So you have a right to bash Bush all you want, but I have a right to point out how wrong you are.
I guess my disagreement is that you're saying the border issue is the sum total of protecting America. Yes .. it needs to be fixed .. but IT'S NOT THE ONLY PROTECTION.
I guess that's my point. To make it a blanket statement that this admin is not protecting us is just too broad a brush to paint.
