Obviously Kerry was a blow hard rich twit that the other shipmates detested. So me theory is they took Kerry on a snipe hunt, they told him to go with Bob (guy playing CIA operative) Bob then takes him out into the swamp and leaves him there with a radio and tells him to keep look out for snipes, whoops I mean the super secret enemy. Mean while the rest of the platoon sneaks up behind him and starts singing Christmas songs in a Vietnamese accent. Then they fired a few shots over his head.

Now why would they do such a thing you ask? Obvious; they were trying to scare him back to the States and it worked like a charm. All the guys on the snipe hunt that night had no idea he would actually get the nomination for president, if they had they might have kept him there for his full tour of duty.
