NEW DELHI: A string of bomb blasts in Assam, a grenade attack and a militant-sponsored shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir marred Independence Day celebrations on Sunday.
At least 13 people, including six children, were killed and 21 injured when a powerful bomb ripped through a college ground in Assam's Dhemaji town, bordering Arunachal Pradesh.
The explosive, that blew up at around 9.45 am soon after the national flag was unfurled, was planted at the entrance of the ground.
A witness said that most of the bodies of the children were burnt beyond recognition. The dead included seven women who had come to watch the children participate in the march-past.
"The bomb exploded under the feet of the children. There is blood and human flesh all over the ground," said school teacher Jiban Saikia

Hindus have a god named Shiva, the "shatterer of worlds". India has nuclear weapons. The muzzies really ought to think that over very, very carefully.

How would you know who did it? Seems like a Mohammedan act to me... Scattering the flesh of little children marching in a parade
Probably the Muslims are feared by them.
"You're hardly alone. IMO, most on FR share our assesment. "
Yep.
It's part of "(p)reach to all nations".
Nope. Arabic Christians use the word "Allah." It means God.
It is cognate to "elohim," which is used in the Hebrew Scriptures.
You may be right that Muslims misuse the word, but it means the same God that Christians and Jews also claim to worship.
If you don't believe me, look up the word in the Catholic Encyclopedia, hardly a pro-Muslim source.

Let's review the tape, because I don't seem to see too many Arabic Christians floating around either the US or India...
...the only group around here (or India, for that matter) who uses the word "Allah" are Muslims....(emphasis added)You may be right that Muslims misuse the word, but it means the same God that Christians and Jews also claim to worship.

Seeing I'm not a Catholic (conservative Lutheran, WELS), I wouldn't use the Catholic Encyclopedia as a theological source.
Sure looks like it...
There are still a good many million Arabic-speaking Christians in the world. Especially in Egypt, the Copts.
They use the word "Allah," for God, as that is the proper Arabic term for the Abrahamic one true God.
You are entirely free to reject Muslims' belief that their Allah is the same deity as our God. I'm not particularly sure of that myself.
But you don't get to redefine words that have accepted meanings.
BTW, I'm not Catholic, either, and I don't use it for theological research
But I have found the Catholic Encyclopedia an excellent resouce on many topics, such as linguistics.
I'd hazard a quess that most here would not equate the moon-god with Jehova.

Assuming you're not an Arabic Christian, as long as you don't use secondary meanings for foreign words when both the primary meaning is far more restrictive and controversial, and there are other words in English that fulfill that secondary meaning, there won't be any misunderstandings.

Actually, I am quite sure of that. Even though Muslims claim that Christians (and Jews) are of the Book, the fact that they reject both the deity of Jesus Christ and the Trinity of God means that, by their admission, they don't worship the same God as Christians.
Your position is internally consistent.
Just curious. Do you apply the same logic to Jews, and deny that they worship the same God as Christians? They deny the deity of Christ and the triune nature of God exactly as Muslims do.
BTW, quite a few groups that claim to be Christian disagree with one or both of these beliefs, or differ significantly with your (likely) definition. Do you deny that these groups are Christians?
All of Islam's borders are war zones. Check the (limited) news, sit down with an atlas and draw your own conclusions.
This is not exactly an ISLAM issue.
ULFA was mentioned in the article.

They are thought by some intel groups...to be funded by Pakistan. But their cause is the whole Assam agenda.
Its plays as more of a socialist group than anything else.
The whole Freedom fighters....to free an area...so it can become repressed and not free.
Yes, muhammed was something else. He married a very wealthy widowed older woman (no, her name wasn't Teresa) and carried off a personally very successful con game. It's interesting that polygamy didn't enter into muhammed's revelations from allah until after the old widder died, but I digress....
Muhammed was illiterate but sharp, and came in contact with many Jews and Christians. The Quaran, his blessed messages from whatever, is a badly jumbled mishmash of poorly remembered Jewish and Christian teachings, and became more violent as his personal circumstances changed.
It's kinda how I see Mormonism. It speaks of Jesus, quotes him, but it's an entirely different character than in the NT
He had the same spirit and tactics as Joseph Smith, but different locations, different times, etc.
Your internal logic is not doing so great. If we can judge by outward behavior, you are really using the old apples to oranges comparison. Hint: Arabic society is very different from Jewish society, take a look and ask why. And their Muhammed slaughtered Jews and had revelations from allah about how rotten Jews are.
In the Bible, God chooses Isaac. In the Koran, allah picks Ishmael. The Jews still await a Messiah, Christians believe He's coming again, and the ragtag Muslims believe there is no one messiah, just several prophets including Ishmael and Jesus, and Muhammed is the last and greatest. The Arab Muhammed copied, cobbled together, and just flat made up what he wanted as he went along.
Doesn't Allah = Al-illah mean LORD? I thought Illah meant God
The problem is that this bunch of terroristas are sponsored by our supposed client state of Pakistaan
