Things are turning around. All the FR Chicken Littles who scream the sky is falling should acknowledge humility. At 51% its narrower than I would like but the job approval numbers should go up by the end of the GOP Convention next month. Let the Democrats believe the election is in the bag. Let their friends in the media be overconfident. The American people will render their judgment on November 2nd.

Lurch's campaign is falling flat. He is avoiding the press. He is backpedalling on Christmas in Cambodia. The swifties ad is gaining traction in the local media and will soon run another ad. Polls show the ad is having a strong affect on independents. His bounce, such as it was, was just that--a mere bounce. He is now slipping. And if you want to know how worried the dems are, just check the whining on Democratic Underground's forum. All kinds of griping about Kerry's no-win strategy, caving on Iraq, embarrassment over the "sensitive war" accusation, etc., etc. Meanwhile Bush hasn't even stepped up to the plate yet--but already he's starting to pull ahead. Not only in OH, but in PA as well. Rasmussen's poll came out after the dem convention--it had both candidates at 46% in PA.

The Left never liked Lurch; they'd much rather have had Howard Dean. For that matter, so would I :-) But it is a historical truth that no incumbant has ever lost re-election with numbers like these-and our convention hasn't even started yet! I can't wait to see what kind of a bounce Bush might get. Want to bet that it'll be more than Lurch's dribble?

What a freaky party, Man I don't want anyone those kind of folks support to be running our country. And in one of those Photos did I see a lady with a flag covering her back side? man that ticks me off! not that her back side is covered, but that she is using a flag.

Rasp Thorne, a theatrical performer,...

Just looks like a really disturbed clown to me. Not one I'd want at my kids birthday party.

So have the American people woken up to the fact that Kerry is a longtime liar who said he wouldn't respond if we were attacked with a nuclear weapon? Or that he has plans to RAISE TAXES to pay for whatever loopy giveaway he comes up with to buy more votes? That Kerry got paid to be a senator but didn't show up for more than 90 % of the votes? Maybe to know Kerry is to loathe Kerry. The RATs have to be peeing in their collective Depends at this point. And where is the fair TerAYsa? Hmmm? Do we think Kerry's begging her to divert some millions from Moveon.org and other leftwing causes to help out people in Fla.? Maybe he could hold a yard sale and sell his bike, skis, snow board, and wind surfing gear and give the proceeds to a Fla. relief fund.

That Bush Administration "Wheel of Fortune" photo you posted cracks me up. What's that supposed to mean? How does one win by spinning that wheel? Also it looks like a couple of the entries was left over from the Clinton Administration wheel, such as "disappearances."

And is that a small boy up there spinning the wheel? How come the Marxists always have to use their kids as props?

ANOTHER vacation? How many vacations is that since the campaign started? The fact that he can't seem to work long without having to go and play for a week or two is reason enough to not vote for him.

And Terrayza has been MIA since their fight in AZ...more's the pity because she was always good for a laugh.

I hate to be a bringer of not-so-great news, but they cite the Columbus Dispatch poll from Ohio when talking about Al-Querry's convention bounce, but it was taken on the 23rd of July, a few days before his convention.

Don't you know that the concept of *winning* is a capitalistic one? No one wins or loses at a leftist game. People get prizes just for participating. Competition is absolutely an expletive on the left.

Good news.

"What's encouraging about the Gallup numbers and other surveys is that they show a similar trend for the president," the Bush campaign official said. When asked what other surveys he was referring to, he replied, "like [internal campaign polling] stuff I see that you don't."

"That the president's approval numbers are improving even before we get to the convention is really encouraging. It shows that Kerry's bounce was short-lived and had little long-term impact in the race," the official said.

I hate being the posting cop, but because Gannett is run by jerks, they don't allow Detroit News articles to be posted here.

Thanks for the good information in comments. We need enough good news in the balance to keep the effort going.
