Yup, we go from a relatively mild misdemeanor charge that she was facing to the red-meat felony charges. She ought to be charged with the hate-crime charge that she allegely set up herself.

Perhaps, if they convict her of the fraud & false report, they could, use testimony from the first trial to file the new, hate crime, charge? Nah; not gonna happen.

Yes, because creating the impression of a hate crime, where none exists, is calculated to poison the atmosphere, and create intolerance all around, to be exploited for personal and group political gain. This is despicable.

There are dozens of these fake hate crimes documented over the years, that I personally know about. I wonder what the total really is, and whether the ratio of real/fake hate crimes is >1?

Dragging her insurance company into this was probably the dumbest of all the dumb things she did. They usually just pay off the claim on damage like this, but she went high profile so they investigated and then decided to make an example of her.

It's going to be interesting to see if she expresses remorse (confesses) before sentencing. If she doesn't, she'll serve a little more time but be a heroine on the liberal campuses, meaning future employment. That's a plus for somebody who just got disbarred.

Other than those that have been exposed, I wonder how many alleged hate crimes over the last 40 years have been faked. Many I expect.
