Our local Books-a-Million doesn't have any copies yet...the employees I have talked to so far are pretty clueless, they have no idea what books are going to arrive on the truck every Thursday...all they can do is order a copy for you, if you request it.
I resisted that becasue I envisioned them ordering ONE copy which I would have to pick up at the Service Desk, which would require me to walk past that mountain of "My Lies" yet again without the satisfaction of picking a good conserative book off the best-seller shelf.
I thought about ordering on-line, but why should I pay shipping? I'll go back Monday, maybe the manager can tell me when they will have copies of this "best seller" on the shelf.

1) I think it would debut on next weekend's list.
2) No.
3) No.
4) It's only been out a week or so, I think, and the online store rankings are based on presales and orders on the site. I think they are updated hourly.

Amazing. SBVs may single-handedly derail Kerry.

While you browse amazon -- remember to let them know which reviews were 'helpful to you'... I am sure it increases the 'karma' of the reviewer... Also -- they have a link to some hack job book Deserter? as one the libs are recommending you read instead of UFC... Go ahead, check the book out and mark down the reviews that 'are not helpful'. Amazon is big into data mining, if enough people tell them that the reviews are not helpful, and don't buy the book I am sure those reviews will go away... Just be careful not to torpedo reasonable people's reviews...

Hannity reported this past week that General Tommy Franks' book was going to debut as #1 on the NY Times Bestseller list. Could your source have them confused?

I attempted to purchase the book in Stockton California today. I first went to a brand new Border's books (Grand Opening today) and was told that the book was only available on the East coast. That they have ordered 18 books which will arrive on the 4th of September. They explained that books just couldn't get to the West Coast until then. I explained to them about the Golden Spike pounded into the ground in the 1800's and that such things as planes and trucks regulary made the trip.
I asked why this problem didn't occur for Clinton's book. No one suggested setting aside a book for me when it does arrive.
I then went to the Barnes and Noble and asked for the book. I was informed that they had it in the back room, but could not sell it because Kerry had filed suit to stop them from selling it. At that point, I suggested that maybe they might want to read the first amendment.
Anyway it is obvious that this book will be nearly impossible to buy in this area as there aren't any other book store. I will of course order from Amazon, but I think this book store censorship needs to be addressed.
This is not the first book that I have encountered problems with in this area. It should also be noted that Barnes and Noble had multiple displays of all of the Bush bashing books.

I would be surprised if this were the case. The NYT bestseller list is not a "secret"...usually authors and publishers know this well in advance of the weekly release...sometimes two or three weeks ahead.
IF this were so, we would have likely heard about it by now on from the Swift Boat Vets themselves.
That being said, I hope I'm wrong and it does show up. I'd love to see some of Kerry's lies get some mainline, partisan media attention.

Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Howard Stern have all had multiple #1 books, but the NYTimes did not review any of them.
I'm sure Howard Stern's next book won't have that problem though. He's officially on the team now.
