Well.. there goes the DNC talking pint of all the swift vets being serial Bush/Republican cronies.
*chuckle*
I heard O'Neill try to say this last week with Carville and Matthews. He was shouted down to such an absurd extent that few picked up on his statement.
Good thing Hewitt was paying attention.
Yes, indeed....Godspeed John O'Neill!
In case you missed the earlier broadcast.....
2004 VOTE
John Kerry in 1971 TV Debate; From the June 30, 1971 broadcast of "The Dick Cavett Show," John Kerry debates John O'Neill on U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

Thank you for this tidbit. Now I've got some ammo for the next time some left-wing wacko tries to throw that "Rassman is a registered Republican" crap in my face.
The real smear campaign here has been against hte Vietnam veterans who dare to speak out against the Mainstream medias beloved Kerry.

Wow, what a stunning revelation. He seemed so normal.
Gore was as much a pathological liar, serial exaggerator as Kerry is. I just can't believe O'Neil would not recognize the same damning character traits in Gore as he has documented so very well from day one in Kerry.
I think he may be telling a little fib.
Twas the night before Christmas and we were afloat Somewhere in Cambodia in our little boat. While the river was lightened by rockets red glare No one but the President knew we were there.
The crew was all nestled deep down in their bunks, While the Spook and I watched the sampans and junks. Our mission was secret, so secret in fact, No one else would remember it when we got back.
When out on the water there arose such a clatter I leaped down from the bridge to see what was the matter. The incoming friendly was starting to flash And I knew that the ARVNs were having a bash.
The snap of friendly fire on the warm tropic air Convinced me for sure no one knew we were there, On a clandestine mission so secret its true That Im still convinced only Tricky Dick knew.
While I huddled for safety in the tub on the bow, I thought of a title, Apocalypse Now. To give to the films I was I making each day To show all the voters when I made my big play.
As I sat there sweating in my lucky flight jacket, Spook said, Merry Christmas! and tossed me a packet. And what to my wondering eyes did appear, But a new lucky cap, which I still have right here.
I keep it tucked here, in this leather brief case, Just sharing with the press its secretive place As I regale them again with my senate refrain, That Christmas in Cambodia is seared into my brain.
Dont bother to quibble with history my friend, By pointing out Johnson was President then. Dont listen to Swiftees who try to explain, For I tell you that night is seared into my brain.
Down Hibbard, down Lonsdale, and you too ONeill, So you dont remember? Well its something I feel. I dont need all you Swiftvets to support my campaign, Cause Christmas in Cambodia is seared into my brain,
Into my brain, into my brain, into my brain...

Strange Cosmos
in 2000, JOHN O'NEILL VOTED FOR AL GORE!
As Lanny might say, he lies about JFK and he lies about his votes.
bttt
Doesn't exactly back up his case for "good sense."
this is big. Of course, I wouldn't think more of him if he voted Bush, but, it shows he's he's not an ideologue if he's telling the truth about his vote.
It shouldn't matter who he voted for or whether he is democrat or republican. That is just a democrat trick to discredit someone they don't like.
So then 89 percent of the media can't be trusted either because according to polls that is the percentage that vote for democrats.
Or is it just if you are republican that you lie.
What a twist.
Point out a democrat that has not lied latey.
Or those that support liars like Kerry or clinton.
Very clever of the dems to discredit you if you question their lies.
Then the press magnifies anything approaching republican mistruths and ignore blatant democrat lies.
O'Neill should get our support as a patriot because he is doing the right thing. We can argue with him later over why he has sometimes voted foolishly. THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE RIGHT NOW. Remember that Christopher Hitchens was an ally going after Clinton. This is not about opinions. He has brought forward the truth about the man who would be an unthinkable commander in chief. Let's support him, not attack him and play into the RATS' hands.
Guess he won't be voting for Kerry. :-)
It was well known in the early 70's that O'Niell voted for Hubert Humphrey in '68. This was in response to attempts at the time to lable him a Nixon stooge.
The demonrats cannot stand the truth. Even when it comes from another liberal. Though, I doubt that voting for Humphrey would qualify him as a liberal by today's standards.
