Gay Couples See Benefits of Marriage Ripped Away (Oh, the Humanity of it All!)
The San Francisco Chronic ^ | 8/14/04 | David Kravets

Margot McShane and Alex D'Mario of Napa were the fourth lesbian couple to get 'married' in San Francisco, but their childrens birth certificates have spots only for 'mother' and 'father.'

The pair had planned to go to court, marriage licence in hand, and demand that McShane has the same parental benefits as D'Amario.

California's justices ruled narrowly on the limits of the mayor's authority to interpret state law, and did not resolve whether the state constitution would permit same sex marriage, as Massachusetts highest court found.

The couple still may have a case, said John Mayoue, who wrote 'Balancing Competing Interests in Family Law' for the American Bar Association.

'I think it is going to create more litigation,' he said of the California Supreme Court decision.

'Someone has the right to say, 'I had a licence issued by a municipality, by San Francisco, and I believe I do have a constitutional right,' he said.

Just because a small handful of perverts have a demented sex fetish, it doesn't mean the rest of America has to accept it as normal.
There are all kinds of kinky sex fetishes out there, and they're not "married", either.
Next thing we'll here is that the foot fetishists want to marry their favorite shoes.

Its all about establishing marital 'benefits' in court, hoping some liberal federal judge will rule in their favor and hoping the SCOTUS blinks under Kerry appointed justices..

Well, yes of course you have a right to say that;
you have a right to say almost any stupid thing you can think of, but that doesn't make it so.

Although you'll certainly be able to find some ambulance-chasing hack who'd take your money to stand up in front of a judge and repeat whatever silliness you wish!

"Valid marriages not only ensure parental rights -- they are key to a wide variety of financial benefits, affecting taxes, inheritance, insurance, Social Security and retirement. "

Gay couples can not have children. It is biologically impossible.

Here is what they are really after -- MONEY.

I love the liberals looking for any ray of sunshine after they have been slapped down in court and by a Missouri state initiative voting 70-30 against them!

The court ruled unanimously that the the SF mayor over stepped his authority. Where they author got narrowly is beyond me.

Only a Lawyer can interpret the law to meet the clients need.
I'm sure he will increase his fees to these Homosexual couples and continually dangle the marriage carrot to them. Money talks and bullsh-t walks.

gay / lesbo-ness is a choice, it is not biologically caused. That has been proven over and over again (NOT that there is anything WRONG with that).

Ya think, the rule now is 60 votes in the Senate. There may never be another judge appointed -- Gee that sounds pretty good no more lefty judges. No judges at all. Amen!

I used to love the joke about the blonde being so dumb that she thought that the Bell Captain in the California Motel could marry people, just like on the ship. Ya mean the mayor can't marry folks either? Can the mayor marry a blonde and an oak tree, for example? How about tax deduction status?

There was a time when deviants claimed they weren't in it for the benefits, oh no, but just the human dignity. Then, as now, my response was [B]arbra [S]treisand!!
