A friend has just contacted me and asked if I or someone I knew would be willing to do a compassionate act.
Today there is a couple from England who are vacationing in California and the husband has suffered a heart attack and has undergone multible by-pass surgery.
The wife knows no one in Modesto, where he is in hospital now and is lonely, scared and in need of emotional support.
I'm in South Orange County so this would be a few hundred miles for me.
Bottom line - any freeper(s) up there that might be willing to contribute some time to comfort an/or provide some companionship of this lady during this dire crisis?
Anyone know how to post this on the California board?
Yes. I'll post a link.
Yes. I'll post a link.
Thanks, bttt.
Link is posted. You're welcome. I live a good hour and a half from Modesto (when the traffic isn't heavy), so I hope some of the locals can help out.
Three hours from Modesto. Anyone know any churches in the area?
bttt
Thank you so much. I don't know how to do that and in on the east coast or I'd try to help out.

From Google. I don't know the area...is this close???
Saundra Duffy lives in Fresno, I think. Maybe she knows some area Freepers. I don't think Fresno is all that far from Modesto.
What the lady needs is to be comforted and assured that Americans have compassion for our friends who experience difficulties while visiting us.
After we ain't france.
I meant to type "I hope I was clear..." I don't know how the word owe came out.
If you have a church congregation of your own, perhaps you could contact your clergy person and they, in turn could find a local clergy to visit the hospital! I doubt it would matter the denomination. I would think she would welcome the visit!
I live in Modesto, within a few blocks of two hospitals. Freepmail me details.
I'll share this with Mrs.dd
great idea, yes, contact the local churchs especially Baptists. This happened here on Maui years ago and I took in the husband at my house as the wife was in the hospital. They knew no one here and she cried a lot and was so worried. When this happens far away from your friends and family it is ten times worse than normal.
God Bless you. I just asked for the details and should have them in a short while, I'll freepmail them to you as soon as I get them.
