Those folks that got killed in mobile homes in Punta Gorda had the same evacuation orders as the folks in Tampa, and at the same time, Thursday afternoon.

Choose to stay in an evacuation zone, and you might die!

I wouldn't get too upset, it's just more of the delusional paranoid democratic party talking.

Reasonable folks (this includes swing voters) know Governor Bush is a governor, not God.

I got chastised for making fun of the suicidal trailer park denizens on another thread. I mean, really. If we can't mock those who knowingly court disaster, who can we mock?

Besides blondes, of course.

In Florida if you didn't know a hurricane was coming..you were an ill-informed moron. Sorry to say it..but this lady in Arcadia was on TV this morning and she said and I quote "we had no idea a storm was coming here..we were told Tampa and north so we went about our business...they lied to us and we lost everything"

Who lied to you? WHO?

* (this includes swing voters)*

WHY is this demographic important? There was some lame gal on FOX this morning who obviously cannot wind her watch talking about how she was undecided. Yeah, that's who I want electing my President.

My nephew called in from Punta Gorda this morning. He survived the storm about 5 blocks from the Burnt Store Marina when he cares for about 20+ boats. He started storm preparations 3 days before the storm, tying off, reinforcing ropes. Every single craft under his care was unharmed, but almost every other boat is totaled - beached, sunk, mast bent. There was PLENTY of warning.

One of the problems is that Punta Gorda has not had a storm for about 85 years and thought they were immune to them. Guess not.

Yes, the forecasters said the storm was going to hit Tampa. Sounds like Charley wasn't listening.
