North Korea says it does not need food aid

Pyongyang, North Korea, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- North Korean officials say their nation does not need humanitarian aid from the United Nations next year or later, the Kyodo news agency reported Saturday.

Pyongyang's message was conveyed by the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Friday, with no explanation as to why it no longer needs the U.N. aid.

U.N. aid officials said they are baffled by North Korea's latest move since they believe that nation is suffering from an acute food shortage.

Even if they resorted to basic cannibalism, the meat would still be quite lean with no fat content. But if they do actually start wide spread cannibalism, I would like to suggest we send them Micheal Moore in the form of a care package. He could feed an entire village for a month.

There doesn't seem to be any reason to do this, other than to seal up North Korea even tighter. The torniquet already seems pretty tight to me, so clamping down harder must mean that something is afoot.

Don't forget the FIVE HUNDRED defectors/refugess a couple (+/-) weeks ago. That had to hurt.

Soylent Green!

There was an article posted a while back, describing missing children, and avoiding meats (open markets) whose fat drops
are angular, instead of round.

Not ever having seen cooked human flesh, I can't say if that's a true indicator.

Methinks the bleeding hearts in the UN will be looking to the United States to throw some weight in here.

The US is a compassionate nation, and I have every trust that President Bush will care more for the starving Koreans than their own leader does.

RE #16

Yeah, I agree that this is a indication that things are going badly inside N. Korea.

Re #32

Some speculate that Kim's regime won't be around long enough to take full advantage of Japanese food aids. That is, his regime will be taken down in a year. We will see.
