He misspelled the word shot with something that looks like killed.

Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season

Squalls out on the gulf stream
Big storm's comin' soon
I passed out in my hammock
And God I slept 'til way past noon
Stood up and tried to focus
I hoped I wouldn't have to look far
I knew I could use a Bloody Mary
So I stumbled next door to the bar
And now I must confess, I could use some rest
I can't run at this pace very long
Yes it's quite insane, I think it hurts my brain
But it cleans me out and then I can go on
There's somethin' about this Sunday
It's a most peculiar gray
Strollin' down the avenue that's known as A1A
Feelin' tired, then I got inspired
I knew that it wouldn't last long
So all alone I walked back home
Sat on my beach and then I made up this song
And now I must confess, I could use some rest
I can't run at this pace very long
Yes it's quite insane, I think it hurts my brain
But then it cleans me out and then I can go on
Well the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots or thereabouts
There's white caps on the ocean
And I'm watchin' for water spouts
It's time to close the shutters
It's time to go inside
In a week I'll be in gay Paris
That's a mighty long airplane ride
And now I must confess, I could use some rest
I can't run at this pace very long
Yes it's quite insane, I think it hurts my brain
But it cleans me out and then I can go on
Yes it cleans me out and then I can go on
Boy, did I blow this thread. That was supposed to be a preview touch not a post...
Let's hope the national guard has the message!
I did emergency response for Andrew and boy was the "you loot we shoot" sentiment out. And good reason...it was like the wild west with no traffic lights, no law, armed gangs, 82nd ABN. I was based with the Marines ( I was EPA) out at the water treatment plant with the loose monkeys we thought had AIDS. Lots of guns those two weeks.
"Attempt to take my stuff and I'll KILL YOU" -- I like it.
He's still got his beer holder and shotgun, so it's Busch time. Looks a lot like Tommy Frank, don't he?
Do you see anything worth stealing in that photo, except maybe the gun?
There was so little looting that even the notoriously anti-gun NPR ran a story on the situation. The reporter described, in awed tones, how homeowners were actually using their *own* guns to protect their *own* property and families and neighborhoods, and as a result the looting and lawlessness that occurred immediately after the hurricane had dropped to almost nil, despite the fact that the areas were still cut off from protection by area law enforcement. The overall tone of the story was that this was some kind of bizarre once-in-a-lifetime miracle, and that the concept had never occurred to them before.
I have no doubts, when another hurricane hits my area, and it will, hubby and I will take turns, sitting on lawn chairs in front of whatever is left of my home, with the shotgun, handguns and rottweiller begging people to try and loot us.
We had a home in Navarre, FL when Opal hit in 1995. Not too much damage in our area but we had a lot of "visitors".
We were still without power when the wife mentioned that a pickup truck with out-of-state plates kept slowly cruising through the neighborhood. I went out on the porch with my rifle and very ostentatiously began "cleaning" it. After another pass when I changed looks with the driver, the truck disappeared.
If this guy were to kill anyone, he'd be charged with murder, bet on it.
The "will be killed" denotes an intent/desire to kill - and that insures a charge of murder.
Much better to write something like "property defended with firearms."
This guy does have the right to defend himself and his family with a firearm; but definitely does Not have the right to "kill treaspassers."
Having gone through Andrew, this is a very stupid thing to do. Why protect property that will be replaced by insurance? In fact if I go through this again, I would happily help the looters get my stuff.
