This will be interesting. How many people do you personally know who are voting for Kerry?
Both siblings will vote Kerry. Some in-laws will probably vote Nader. Mom doesn't vote. Dad will vote Bush. Wife will vote Bush. And of course, I'm voting for Big W!
Such a shame you have to function with them.
Very, VERY few. But, then again, I live in Virginia, which is Bush Country........
According to these posts, there certainly doesn't seem to be a lot of support for Kerry, does there???
I have another question......
How many people do you personally know, who have been "polled" by Gallup or other "reputable" pollsters???? I know of NONE!!
Which brings me to my point. Polls are full of crap!! The only "poll" that counts is the one you cast on November 2nd, 2004 in the voting booth. And I urge all of you to vote EARLY and OFTEN for President Bush!!
Let me see.
(2) Gen X yuppie dink friends of my brother.
(4) dumbass greennie-weenie pals of my brother (my brother although conservative is a chronic Marley and hence...the company one keeps.
(3) spoiled upper middle class doctor's wives who happen to be my neighbors....
(2) one neighbor is a trial lawyer and his wife is a Rat activist (very nice folks though I must confess...I like them as long as we avoid politics)
(3) Several of my mom's elderly gang of rich widows....mainly because they are simply ignorant and think the Dems "help" folks...SOS
(4) a few folks I know who are 40 something do-good, be-nice new age Apostate Christians who somehow rationalize infanticide with their religion...they are all Sewanee grads and very very hard core leftists ...Southern Style.
(5) One old real estate magnate worth around 50 million just cause he's an 80 year old yellow dog from way back and I guess thinks he's still a Dixiecrat...he has been very good to me though so I don't proselytize. The rest of his family are all Pubs.
(1) One homosexual local talking head.
I know plenty of Music Row infrastructure Dems here...mostly women
My FIL a 3 war combat vet including 2 tours in Nam will probably vote W this time....his first Pub vote since 1972. He's mainly a class envy Dem but otherwise a real hombre. Yes....I have proselytized the shite out of him and am going to deliver him a copy of Unfit as soon as I can get one.
I can think of very very few Waspy good ol boys like me voting Left...hell, it's been that way more or less since the Carter debacle.
GW will carry Nashville Metro handily and Tennesseee by 5-8% is my guess. It's the same here, the Kerry vote is more anti-Bush than pro-Kerry. They hate Bush cause he's Southern (sort of), Evangelical (the biggie) and sees the world in a non nuanced way...like me.
That's a real motley crew.
I just know some people not voting for Bush. They're not necessarily going for Kerry.
Wow, even my 'log cabin' brother will not vote for kerry.
Everybody I meet here in Boston, during my one-month business course. Or maybe not. The PC influence here is so strong - nobody dares stray from the Little Red Book - and express any support for Bush.
I am personally reticent - because the course I'm attending is run by 'Rats - or more deranged folks that think that 'Rats are too like...conservative...dude/man (Pick one). And let's get real, folks. 'Rats blather all day long about "like diversity, man....and like progressivist causes...and like openness 'nd stuff." But they are 5-year old Nazis at heart. Great combo.
Their tedious intellectualist idiocy is now amusing, because I get to leave in three weeks and counting. I feel sorry for the sane person here, trapped in the childish political stupidity that dominates this otherwise great town.
We live in Birmingham. I've seen one Kerry bumper sticker before tonight. Around 7:30 we went to an outdoor concert -- Norah Jones and the Handsome Band. She is FANTASTIC. Go see her if you can. Headed for Atlanta/Chastain Park tomorrow night.
We lolled around in the parking lot for awhile and met a well dressed 35-ish gentleman sipping a cocktail. Standing in front of his beautiful vanilla colored 1975 Triumph. Big "TRIUMPH" plate across the front, and a smaller one over the license plate in the back... As I bent a little closer I noticed a small W with slash over it sticker on the right bumper. And a Kerry sticker on the left (appropriately). I was wearing my "I support President Bush & Our Troops" button.
He saw me wince at his stickers and smirked. I told him, somehow, the words "triumph" and "Kerry" just do not go together. He shook his longish bangs and said: I'm ready for a change. I told him: well I could hit you upside the head with a 2 x 4 and give you a pretty good preview of the kind of change you'll get with Kerry as commander-in-chief. He smiled. I smiled. But I wasn't kidding.
Other than this guy, I know two people who are voting for Kerry.
I don't think I'd last as long as you have.
Birmingham Alabama?
My husband is a CPA and I work with him and we decided to ask our clients how they were voting in November:
1 is abb and cannot stand George Bush.
1 is straight democratic ticket and would like to see all social security benifits taxed because it is a gift from the government.
358 clients plus 25 friends and 1 nineteen year old daughter were overwhelmingly pro George W. Bush.
Probably the biggest surprise was asking an outspoken, feminist, anal-retentive ball breaking witch answer with a vehement, rabid anti-Kerry rant that would have made Dennis Miller's face turn red.
Come to think of it we really have some good clients.
And????????
Sadly, I know three people who voted for Bush last time and now plan to vote for Kerry. Another three voted for Bush last time and although they can't bring themselves to vote for Kerry, are claiming they will vote for neither. They claim they think we shouldn't have gone into Iraq, although the specifis about it tend to show a serious lack of understanding of the issue, or even a firm grasp of facts. It worries me.
About half a dozen, and I live in Texas.
the majority of people I work with
