Kerrys version sounds like "Apocalypse now" but in reality Kerrys boat was more like McHales navy.

Kerrys boat was more like McHales navy. Oh please, McHale's crew may have been wacky, but they got the job done, in spite of the "command deficiencies" of Captain Bingamton. And they didn't lie about it afterwards either. The only thing they lied about was their personal Japanese POW/houseboy. :)

Well, while McHale and crew were unorthodox and committed to having a good time, there didn't appear to be the slightest hint of cowardice and vainglory to what they were doing. Of course, I haven't seen the show since childhood. I imagine Kerry's boat was more like Ens. Charles Parker's Navy.

It may be humorous, but just imagine how the others guys feel when Kerry says that they are the ones who ran and he saved Rassman under fire. The other guys didn't get a medal and he used the incident to get two after he combined the rice in the butt with his contusion. What a scumbag.
