I agree.
I wrote NBC about it. They basically embargoed any website outside the US from showing the feed to US computer users.
BBC's feed comes up with a 'We cannot show this feed outside of the UK' when you attempt to access it.
This is an outrage, honestly. The Olympics is a news event as much as a sporting event.

I spent the better part of last night trying to find a live video link outside the US without luck. I'm sure there has to be somewhere.

You can't blame NBC too much, though. They spent, what, $2 billion for the broadcast rights? Their ratings have to be maximized, and that means prime-time airing, with all us salivating dogs waiting breathlessly for it.

BBC's feed comes up with a 'We cannot show this feed outside of the UK' when you attempt to access it. Isn't it possible to spoof the server?

I only intend to watch the opening ceremonies (which I'm sure will be interrupted by commercials,
as always). I don't intend to watch any of the melodramatic video vignettes (complete with music) about the athletes, which NBC always does.
Why does NBC always get the Olympics?!

I think if you proxy through a foreign IP you should be able to view it live.
