Tampa radar looks toward Lemon Bay/Charlottes Harbor as new point of impact.

Sarasota in big trouble as is Bradenton. Sarasota is very near Ft. Meyers, jus tnorth of eye's projected path.

Sarasota and Bradenton are north of Fort Myers, but South of Tampa. Residents there are probably in some semblance of danger, yes.

Can you picture the storm about 15-20 miles to the east?!

Fort Myers and Cape Coral would be a mass wreckage zone because of those winds.

"we went to Sonny's and ordered two pounds of barbecue to ride out the storm."

Goodness....yes there will be a storm in your toilets too. Sonny's is nasty barbecue. Hopefully, you have a good supply of toilet paper :-)

There is a live updating radar loop on post #3. The strongest winds are only located in the eyewall (small circle of red and orange around the eye). That is west of Fort Myers and will not hit there.

I have been trying to access webcams on Sanibel.....everything is just dead.

I hope that paradise manages to make it out of this thing without 12-years worth of cleanup, but that is not likely.

I hope nobody is injured, but I am afraid tons of folks may not have evacuated from Fort Myers and Sanibel in time.
