BTTT
And so is VDH
And Dick Chenney too! (kudos jibjab.com)
Outstanding...but, then again, isn't VDH always a cut above the rest?
My brother-in-law hates GW because of his religious references...to him religion is a social formality...I told him that I never understood why some people are afraid of people who believed in God...he said that he didn't want anyone imposing their religious views on him or his children...I said that by removing any reference to God from public discourse we were in effect imposing a form of religious censorship on ourselves and that I did not like censorship...that I believed in freedom of speech...I also said that I was more worried about Islamic fascism as a real physical threat to myself and my family than I was about the language of Christianity spoken by a man who was out to destroy the fascists. BTW I live in downtown Brooklyn about 2 miles from Ground Zero so the threat is very real.
My mother has such hate for this great American Patriot and cannot give me a satisfactory reason "why", other than he stole the election and the economy is so bad (and OJ didn't do it either).
I could have written that! Are we speaking of the same woman? Are we perhaps unknowing siblings?

Absolutely true. Their bileous hatred for Bush and the red-zone Americans he represents tells me the psuedo-intellectual, psuedo-sophisticated, effete, emasculated, snobby, navel-gazing, narcissistic, educated-beyond-intelligence, east and west coast liberal elitists are so shallow and devoid of character a gentle summer breeze would blow them away.
Personally, I believe much, if not most, of the left's bilious hatred for Bush is generated by his open confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his saviour and Lord. Jesus told his disciples:
"If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love it's own, but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you"............."But all these things they will do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me."
Darkness hates the light, evil hates good, and Godless, humanistic elitists hate anyone who "wears his religion on his sleeve", as girly-man Ron Jr. referred to Bush's faith. Those of us who have openly declared our faith in Jesus Christ are somewhat familiar with the hatred and disdain for our intelligence that Bush faces daily at a higher intensity from the media, Hollywood, and academia.
Of course our American elitists don't hate the muslims who murder and plunder in the name of a bloody-handed, warmongering false god. They only hate those of us who worship and follow the gentle and forgiving Prince of Peace. That isn't logical, but it demonstrates the truth of Jesus' prophetic words to his disciples.
I disagree... I think their fuming and snarling just alienates people. The average person just wants everybody to Be Nice; that's why you hear the constant undercurrent of complaint about "partisanship", etc. The only ones who want to hear the sort of vitriol directed at Bush are the ones who are spouting it.
Who knows, "brother"... LOL.
Not voting for George Bush is, of course understandable and millions in fact will do precisely that. But for those haters who demonize the man, their knee-jerk disgust tells us far more about their own shallow characters than it does anything about our wartime president. And there is a great danger in all these manifestations of pure hatred. We are in a war. And in these tumultuous days, the Left's unhinged odium will resonate with and embolden not only our enemies abroad, but also the deranged, dangerous folk here at homeIOW, it's Bush's fault? VDH is an [characterization deleted].
j. Another one.
I personally feel the country is more like 60/40 pro Bush
and we will see that come election day.
Very good piece.
"But for those haters who demonize the man, their knee-jerk disgust tells us far more about their own shallow characters than it does anything about our wartime president."
I agree. This is the reason that transcends everything else. It can't be his Texas accent - liberals in Texas hate him just as much, maybe more.
That press conference where questioner after questioner asked him why he would not admit it was all a mistake. They assume their own basic metaphysical assumptions (of the elite) are the default position, and that he is the one who won't engage, but it is the other way around. Just focus on the actual multi-faceted reason we made the decision to oust Saddam. Liberals enter into a dialectic about it, but they cannot get to first base, because they do not accept civilizational defense.
The backlash of people who do not want Western Civ to go away was already started, but W. symbolizes the frustration that their agenda is being rolled back.

Everything she loathes about our President I love by the way and thats a shame.
Hanson, and Bush are such a gift to all of us.

BTTT and thanks Tolik! It's one of his most insightful.
I am reading his book on Greek warfare. A very nice short book on a fascinating subject. Highly recommended.
I grew up in a very liberal household. I hate southern accents. It was equated with stupidity. My parents were anti-gun, anti-death penalty, anti-redneck pickup truck Nascar, wrestling lowbrow trailer-park lifestyle. Even now I have some trouble with the southern accent thing. But the Boston, Kennedyesque accent is much worse. I do work hard to overcome this ingrained prejudice against southern accents instilled by parents who loathed the idea of racism and prejudice!!! But I love Bush. He's everything my parents hated. He's a great pres.
