Salvadorans to face "hell" if new troops sent to Iraq: Islamist group

DUBAI (AFP) - The fate of Salvadoran troops in Iraq will be "hell" if their government goes ahead with plans to send fresh troops to the embattled country, a shadowy militant group warned on an Islamist website.

"If you send troops to Iraq, we will not be merciful and will we not refrain from responding. Your fate will be hell like what happened to Spain and other countries," said Jamaa al-Tawhid al-Islamiya, or Islamic Unification Group.

"We advise the people of El Salvador (news - web sites) not to send their sons to Iraq as we only understand the language of car bomb blasts and blood," the group said in a statement.

"Therefore, government and people of El Salvador, come back to your senses and do not follow the Americans and their allies," it said.

The group said the statement was a warning to El Salvador, Australia, Denmark, Italy and other countries with troops deployed in Iraq to pull out their forces.

The authenticity of the statement could not be verified.

Salvadoran President Antonio Saca said Monday he would not give in to threats against his country if it went ahead with plans to send a new contingent to Iraq on August 17 to relieve the 374 Salvadoran troops currently posted in the country.

Last week, a group calling itself the Mohammed Atta-Al Qaeda Jihad Brigades issued a statement that threatened El Salvador if it sent new troops to Iraq.

El Salvador is the only Latin American country with troops in the US-led military coalition in Iraq, after the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua withdrew their forces earlier this year, following Spain's lead.

Mohammed Atta was the suspected leader of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States.

All these different dam brigades its getting hard to keep up with them. What we need to do is eliminate the whole kit and kaboodle. Thats the ticket. That should do it.

I am reminded of the story of the Salvadoran troopers set upon by some terrorists in Iraq. One of the troopers shot his last round and ended up killing two or three of the goblins with his pocket knife.

The remaining tangos got scared and fled.

How would a "sensitive" Kerry administration overcome these kinds of threats as they attempt to outsource the War On Terror???

Looks like our US-based Mosques have a new "Charity" to contribute to: "a group calling itself the Mohammed Atta-Al Qaeda Jihad Brigades issued a statement that threatened El Salvador if it sent new troops to Iraq.".

Tomorrow is Friday, I'm sure there will be much emotion and contributing to the cause of Jihad going on within the holy sites in America tomorrow.

UH.. these troops are from EL SALVADOR. They were weaned on blood and grew up on hardship. I don't think this pretty little war of words is going to sway them much.

The Salvadoran army can show them a thing or two about terrorizing.

'Names get more and more stupid all the time', well, that just about describes Muslim idiots.

"The Salvadoran army can show them a thing or two about terrorizing."

No kidding. These guys used to be known for raping nuns and pregnant moms in the 1980's and those were the guys the US thought were moderates. I'd say a lot of Iraqi schmooks better put "Meeting Allah" in their dayplanners 'cause the Salvadorans aren't known for giving a rat's ass about the rights of evil killers. I work with a Salvadoran and the guy downright scares me.

Too bad Major Roberto Daubisson is no longer around, I'm sure the death squads would take care of anyone threatening the Salvadorans.
