I am wondering how it ever got into TEXAS school?

That's not a tough one. Where is the city of Corpus Christi located?

In the actual play, the newborn surrogate Christ character is named "Joshua" by his bigoted father, who rejects the name "Jesus" because it sounded too Mexican.

You do know that Joshua is the Hebrew Jesus, right?

I hadn't considered that. But it mocks Christ and in essence the city named after him and the faith of the many Catholic and Christian Texans. I'm just surprised they let it be shown and in a school at that. What a piece of garbage.
