IRAQI SECURITY FORCES RESPOND TO ATTACKS IN AL KUT

CAMP BABYLON, Iraq - Iraqi Police and National Guard units responded on Wednesday to attacks by armed anti-Iraqi forces on Al Kut's city hall, Iraqi Police stations and Iraqi National Guard barracks.

During the resulting firefights, members of both sides were killed and wounded.

The governor of Al Kut has contacted the anti-Iraqi forces seeking to reach a peaceful resolution, and return security and stability in the town.

The Multinational Division-Center South's 2nd Brigade Combat Team at Camp Delta, which is located on the opposite bank of the Tigris River from Al Kut, has increased its combat readiness level of and is prepared to support the Iraqi Security Forces.

IRAQI POLICE AND 1ST SOLDIERS CAPTURE SUSPECTED BOMB MAKER

TIKRIT, Iraq - Iraqi Police, with assistance from Task Force Danger Soldiers, captured a suspected bomb maker near Tuz on Aug. 11 at 10:00 a.m.

The IP arrested the Arab male suspect, Raheem Hakeem Agile, during the cordon and search. Two AK-47's, various lengths and gauges of electrical wire and electrical switches were confiscated during the search.

The detainee was taken to the Tuz Police Station.

I will bet you that he wishes that the US forces had taken him in to be questioned. I would not want to be questioned by the Iraqi forces. I think their baseline is skewed a bit.
