Pakistani citizen isn't a terrorist, brother says

Posted 7:30 a.m.

CHARLOTTE (AP) — The Pakistani citizen arrested here with a video camera featuring landmarks and skyscrapers of Southeastern cities is no terrorist and simply likes tall buildings, according to his brother.

Kamran Akhtar, the man questioned by police while filming Charlotte's downtown skyline last month, remains jailed while officials try to determine whether his activities are connected to terrorism.

His brother, Irfan Akhtar, said he loves to take pictures of tourist spots and buildings and had been traveling the country after losing his job at a New York photo store that closed.

Irfan Akhtar said his brother continued to live and work in the United States and paid taxes, Irfan said.

He worked in a building very near the World Trade Center for a while and was on his way to work Sept. 11, 2001, Irfan Akhtar said. "Why (would he) be there if he is a terrorist?"

There was a report that OBL had some of his buds take pictures of the Twin Towers at the time of the attack so they could watch them.

That may be why he was in NY at the time....

Well...

"U.S. District Judge Carl Horn declared that Akhtar should be held in the Mecklenburg County Jail until his detention hearing Friday. After Akhtar told Horn he had recently transferred $60,000 into his wife's account and an additional $50,000 to $60,000 into the accounts of his children, the judge ordered him to provide his own attorney."

Hmmm is right !

Worked near WTC...at a photo store which went out of business...has a loose $ 120,000 to deposit in the bank, unemployed, Unlimited Buss Pass for North America, carrying several video tapes which contained more than tall buildings, ILLEGAL ALIEN, best guess?...

after hearing forward to Ft. Leavenworth's MAX not Gitmo !
