I'm sorry, we're obviously off on the wrong foot. I think the heart of our disagreement is that I think the story here is exaggerated and overblown, and you don't. In a nutshell, some passenger freaked because people were using the bathroom too much.
Wrong again.
People freaked out because arab muslims with in-your-face identification as such, were using the bathroom too much. Critical difference, for most of us.
Never mind the other mind games that they were reportedly playing.
I think this alert business and the obvious threats America is under effects us all in different ways. I'm not a guy that is going to go out and start something with anyone. On the other hand, I find it hard to let myself be bully'd by terrorists and it drives me nuts to see someone pushed around. I just don't believe in that way of treating people.
I bet we tend to agree on this more than our writings have shown. And, I'd bet you'd be willing to defend yourself and others as well. With what's written in this article, I am concerned that the Air Marshall's didn't ask those folks to settle down and have a seat and put everyone's fears to rest. What everyone very well could have been looking at is pure cultural differences. I don't blame them at all for getting spooked.
I think most of us here aren't willing to let ourselves be victims. But only a handful are willing to act if it were to come down to it. Terrorists on the other hand, well that's a different mentality. I just think American's need to better prepare themselves and put themselves in various scenarios in advance and try to figure out what they are going to do to protect themselves. If taken hostage, we're dead anyway, so I'm in the corner for doing something.
Good exchange of thoughts.
