Catholic League president William Donohue commented today on the remarks made about President George W. Bush that are featured on the website of Catholics for Kerry 04:
The home page of Catholics for Kerry 04 prominently lists comments by Wayne Madsden, who says, George W. Bushs blood lust, his repeated commitment to Christian beliefs and his constant references to evil doers, in the eyes of many devout Catholic leaders, bear all the hallmarks of the one warned about in the Book of Revelationsthe anti-Christ. He also charges that Bush couples his political fanaticism with a neo-Christian blood cult.
This is the language of a demagogue, and it has no legitimate role to play in presidential politics. It is important to note that it is not the position of the Catholic League that the Kerry camp should be held responsible for this group of wacko Catholics. But at the same time, it shows how hypocritical the operatives in the Kerry camp really are.
For example, it is reported by the Associated Press today that Kerry spokesman Chad Clanton is demanding that President Bush condemn a book about John Kerrys alleged fraudulent behavior in Vietnam, Unfit for Command. Why? Simply because one of authors made anti-Catholic remarks in a chat room last year (for which he has apologized).
Now according to the logic of the Kerry campaign, it would seem only proper that John Kerry should condemn Catholics for Kerry 04: surely the nexus is tighter in this case than in the chat room quip. Indeed, this Catholic-Kerry website provides a direct link to Contribute to Kerry Online, the official donation section of the Kerry-Edwards website.
The subject of religion has been giving Kerry and the Dems fits lately. We hope their recent discovery of anti-Catholicism, however strained, suggests a new beginning. They can start by hiring a new religious outreach person who doesnt cavort with anti-Catholics.
If I were a Catholic, I would RUN, not walk, as fast and far as I could from this group.
If these 'devout' leaders really believe that, then they should be looking forward to the Last Day, no matter how much they have to suffer. They should rejoice, right?
Jesus! Oh, maybe not.
KERRY CATHOLICS SAY BUSH IS THE ANTI-CHRIST ??!!!
That totally puts these ??? into the totally whacko league - just like THEIR god - kerry.
Evil begets evil - I would have never said that about kerry until now.
An Anti-Christ is someone who does not believe Jesus Christ is their savior.. They need to choose another candidate for that position
I have no doubt that Fred Gwynne was a better man.
Uh,....what the heck is a "neo-Christian blood cult"? I don't even know what a "neo-Christian" is, for that matter.
Somebody should trademark the word "Catholic" and keep these people with defective DNA from using it.
I guess these are the pro-abortion catholics. What is there, maybe 2 or 3 of them?
Written over a year ago. By someone named Madsen who (checking watch) is getting his 15 seconds of fame right now (internet time).
Looks like this Madsen guy is trying to sell a book. Gee, I'm so surprised. /sarcasm off
I am a Catholic and I support George W. Bush in this election. I think johnfkerry is NOT a true Catholic. He is a CINO, Catholic in name only. God Bless W in this election.
CatholicsAgainstKerry.com...........Ping
Revelation never uses the term "antiChrist". The word is found mainly in 1 John.
And who are these "devout Catholic leaders"? I'd like a list of names.
Or not.
It's just left-wing hate talking.
Gee, all this time I thought the AntiChrist was the Senator from New York!
>>>I'd like a list of names.
Andrew Greeley
Rembert Weakland
Hubbard
Mahoney
He didn't say what they devoutly worshiped did he?
By the way, they have a disclaimer up now, and their attempt to refute the Catholic leagues release.
patent
He changed his name so that he would have the initials, JFK. Then he claims to be a Catholic for the same reason. Someone earlier compared him to a Manchurian Candidate. I think he is one.
