And that's the REAL reason the demonrats hate GWB: not only is he everything they hoped billyboy would be, he will be remembered for planting the seeds that grew into peace to the Middle East.....
Washington was the Father of our country, and Lincoln freed the slaves, and GWB started the journey that will eventually bring peace to this troubled part of the world, and the rats hate him for it, so much so, that I wouldn't put ANYTHING past them.......
The real democrats, who controlled the party when Tip was the Man, lost control to the clintonistas, and he was so bad, the party regulars fled as the goon squad came in to defend their leader......
But as I sat watching Rummy from Afgahistan today speaking about 9 million folks so hungry to vote they risk their lives to register, it told any logical man that so it will be in Iraq, and all the other kingdoms throughout the world.....
The time of kings is over, now is the time of the little man, and he never had a stronger, braver friend than Ronald Reagan or GWB......
While not asking for this honor, GWB had it blown up on him on 9-11, and the world will be a safer, better place when this is done.
God Bless and protect GWB....
That's all I needed to hear.
Enjoy your brief stay on FR.
Why brief? Have I violated a rule?
Sarge, do you disagree with my priorities?
With the exception of the original 13, each joined the Union only with the approval of the existing states through a majority vote in Congress. And I agree, leaving should have been done through the same means, with the approval of the other states through a majority vote in Congress.
The Union should NEVER be allowed to vote on letting a state out...
Why not? A vote is required to let them in.
Do you love this country? A lot of people would misconstrue your list as putting America last. Seeing as how this is your first day, you'd better make yourself abundantly clear on that point.
It's not last, it's third.
But I understand your confusion.
I list my faith, my state, and my country, in that order.
My faith transcends boundries. I am a Christian and obey God first and foremost.
My state is where I was born, and as this country was founded, is sovereign.
My country is the one my state chose to belong to (and later was captured into). Again, as the Founding Fathers established, the nation is secondary to the states individually. Each state agreed to the terms that made up the nation -- the nation has no power apart from what the states collectively give it. Or that's the way it's supposed to be.
Not sure where the odd tradition of putting the US Flag above the State Flag started, but would we fly the UN Flag above the US Flag? I don't think so.
Your analogy is ludicrous.
If Lincoln had not fought back after South Carolina fired on American troops, the North American continent would consist of a powerful, but greatly weakened USA to the north, and a backwater, third word, banana republic to the south.
Not my confusion, as you've not displayed typical dumbass troll behavior. I'll give you a pass since you're a CSA good ole boy (or girl?). Meanwhile, seeing as how you're all alone, I'll hope standwatie will give you some backup and a welcome.
Let's hold up a sec.
Let's hang tight a few. Lot's of Southerners don't like Lincoln. Nothing to do with slavery. Just resentment for a War that didn't have to be, in many minds.
I had ancestors in Blue and Gray and it is a touchy subject still.
I'm not on his side but lets hold on a sec. Who has the troll questionaire?
Not the least of all this person:
"Citizens, by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles. You have in a common cause fought and triumphed together; the independence and liberty you possess are the work of joint counsels, and joint efforts of common dangers, sufferings, and successes." -- George Washington, 1796
I am hearing dueling banjos here!
The civil war is over the south lost. quite your crying. just because lincoln did something that pisses you off does not mean he was a bad president.
Now squell like a pig boy! I iz predicting that you'z about to be zotted.
1. I'm NOT a troll. I just found out about this place after being a strong member of Hannity.com for some time.
2. I'm actually not alone. I've been quite relieved to see many in this thread with a realistic outlook of history.
3. I'm not a CSA good ole boy. I am an American (as I said in my original post in this thread I believe). The CSA was 100 years before my time. I just prefer to look at history realistically and not like the schools teach us. I have no rebel flag and no pick-em-up truck.
4. I've edited my tag to what it is on hannity.com. We don't live in the USA the founding fathers created and states are no longer sovereign as they were intended to be (thanks mostly to Lincoln).
That should make things more clear (and better).
Kind of loose analogy but passable.
Ok guys, we "blue bellies" kicked your butt. You put up a good fight, but you couldnt get it done.
It was 140+/- years ago. Lets get over it and move on.
Thanks for the quote. Very good.
