In an interview this morning on Fox and Friends, Kerry spokeman Jeh Johnson backed off of Democrat presidential nominee Senator John Kerry's repeated statements that he had spent Christmas 1968 on a secret mission in Cambodia.
Fox's Brian Kilmead asked Mr. Johnson whether Sen. Kerry would release the action report from January 20, 1969 regarding purported action in Cambodia.
Mr. Johnson said, "I believe you're referring to an incident that happened near Cambodia. Okay, well John Kerry has said on the record that he had a mistaken recollection earlier. He talked about a combat situation on Christmas Eve, 1968, which at one point he said occurred in Cambodia. He has since corrected the record to say it was someplace on a river near Cambodia and he is certain that at some point subsequent to that he was in Cambodia. My recollection, my understanding is he was not certain about that date.
Mr. Kilmead brought up Sen. Kerry's 1986 floor speech in the Senate where he talked about spending Christmas in Cambodia as being "seared---seared" in his memory.
Mr. Johnson replied, "I believe he's corrected the record to say it was someplace near Cambodia, but he is not certain whether it was actually in Cambodia but he is certain that there was some point subsequent to that that he was in Cambodia."
Mr. Johnson also repeated Sen. Kerry's canard that he left Yale in 1966 and turned down all options to further his education by choosing to serve his country. As was (barely) reported in March of this year, Sen. Kerry asked for and was denied a one year deferment to study in Paris.
Kerry's lies are catching up with him. He thought his liberal media buddies would protect him.
Or Abu-Grabag.
Look, isn't it obvious? Kerry had a little whore, whom he nicked named "Cambodia" and well, on Christmas he was busy being "in" with Cambodia .... and he can't tell the whole truth because Teresa would find out and would cut him off that the knees and he's really a swell guy, just trust what he's says is the best thing for us, and vote him into office anyway?
Kerry's so called "honest mistakes" are anything but honest. Kerry is "Unfit For Duty" and the DNC is" A National Party No More" because they have picked this loser and are trying to cram him down America's throat. I don't buy any part of Kerry's story.
I can't tell you what I did each day in 2001, but I can tell you that on September 11, I was sitting in front of my computer at work when a co-worker (of Arab descent, ironically) asked me if I still had my mini TV in my office because a plane had flown into one of the twin towers. He was also the one who told me that the second tower and the Pentagon had been hit. Later that day, I had a Master Commissioer's hearing, and before going over I called and asked if the hearing would still be taking place, given all that had happened. The hearing was still on, and I remember there was already a special edition of the local paper in print and on sale. When I went home that night, the gas lines at the convenience store near my house were backed up because people were afraid there was going to be a spiek in gas prices. I got home that night and my mom and dad, and my best friend were at my house. My wife had previously invited them over for a surprise birthday dinner (my birthday is on 9/12). We all ate and then watched the coverage for the rest of the night. Of course, the point of this story is that because of the significance of that date, I can remember more detail of what I did on 9/11/01 than on any other date that year.
I have a vague recollection of the same article. It is from a series on Kerry, and I think it was from the Boston Globe. Kerry made statements during his senior year at Yale regarding the war.
This is why I love FR!! Another Dim/Kerry lie exposed
He was in Cambodia visiting Jen-Jiss Khan.
FELLOW POSTERS:
I have zero photoshop skills, but I have ideas...Can someone photoshop Kerry's head into the Apocolypse Now poster in blace of Brando's?? Maybe with Edwards looking over his shoulder in place of the equally revolting Martin Sheen?
It's more serious than merely misrememberng something given the implications of being in Cambodia at that time. People can misremember things but Kerry should never have said this publicly unless he was absolutely certain of his facts. This "mistatement" shows a profound lack of judgment on his part, at best.
Two people seem to have difficulty explaining their whereabouts on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:
Scott Peterson said he was on a boat, FISHING in San Francisco Bay.
John Kerry said he was on a boat in CAMBODIA.
Both are lying.
Yep, that was obvious. And the reason his other buddy was injured is that Kerry pushed him out of the way as he (Kerry) attempted to run from battle.
"I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by the Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared--seared--in me."Whether this is mendacity or mental incompetence, such a man must not be elected President of the United States.
The September 11, 2001, attack on the U.S. was never repeated--thanks to the clear thinking and expert leadership of President Bush. He must be re-elected. The fate of the U.S. and the fate of the world depend upon it.
The upcoming election will be the most important presidential election in American history.
President Bush must be re-elected.
Sen. Kerry cannot be allowed to become the most powerful man in the world!

How the dem party elite woulda loved to have young Obama as their candidate! True socialism could be acheived under his reign instead of this boorish, brahmin fill-in with the same old foppish liberal half-measures!
