RE: Not all mosques have observable minarets
For example, the one nearest to where I live is in a building that looks quite a bit like a small Masonic Lodge (now THAT is quite the irony!.....). In fact, it IS in what used to be a small Masonic Lodge, which shut down since there weren't enough people joining the Masons to justify it any longer.
The mosques here in North Florida are almost all tiny little frame or cinder block buildings that had formerly been Pentecostal churches. No minarets, and in fact, no congregation (many are on the edges of small rural towns), but they obviously expect that to change. Very creepy.
