It depends on what you mean by in. If you mean "inside of", then no, he wasn't in Cambodia - but that isn't what he meant. If by in you mean "not in" then that is eaxactly what Kerry meant.

I heard the upcoming spin from Mora Liarson today. She made some comment about "maybe Kerry thought he was in Cambodia but later discovered that he wasn't"

To which, Brit responded: well, surely he should have known whether he was in Cambodia or only close to Cambodia by 1986 when he repeated the statement.

yes, Mara "suggested" that maybe Kerry thought he was in Cambodia, now realizes he was just near Cambodia. Did you notice that almost immediately Juan was chiming in as if what Mara said was gospel.

I won't be surprised if the Kerry campaign has already put that goofy explanation out as their talking point du jour.

If so, when did Kerry find out? Was it after his speech in the senate in 1986, or his interview with AP in 1992, or with the Boston Globe in 2003? Or maybe it was today after Cameron asked the question. LOL.
