(Fox News) Carl Cameron Confronts Kerry Campaign on Cambodia
Fox News ^ | 9 Aug 2004 | Carl Cameron

Posted on 08/09/2004 3:20:41 PM PDT by mcg1969

Hugh Hewitt just finished playing an entire story from Fox News wherein Carl Cameron confronted the Kerry campaign regarding his Cambodia claims.

Intially, they denied that Kerry had ever said he was in Cambodia. So Carl presented them with the Senate Record and the Boston Globe article where he most unambiguously did so. They said they would have to get back to him on this one, but sticks to their story that he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia.

THIS STORY HAS LEGS!

At last, some of the mountain of cr*p he's created may finally start sticking! His mistake on this one was that he built the story with details that could be checked against known facts years later.

What he gained from this big lying story was both self-glorification and a cover for his post-war behavior by painting himself as the 'reluctant hero' abused by the U.S. government. His claims of widespread atrocities by Vietnam vets probably came from the same motivation.

His story about his trip to Cambodia has all the earmarks of the pathological liar. The real pathological aspect of his behavior, and the part that makes him more than just a simple lying con man, is that most of his lying constructs seem to have been accompanied by his delusional sense that the lie can't be found out, or that he can strongarm and intimidate any naysayers into silence.

Looks like he's finally going to have a hard time covering his stinking tracks on this one.

...he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia.

Here we go. 50 miles all of a sudden means something. I wonder what else he can recall this clearly. His wounds - maybe?

Shouldn't that be "fresh Fruits of the Loom?"

You must be French as in fruits de mer or if talking about dems fruits de merde.

I want to insert two words in your statment ... Even Mara Liason didn't go out on the limb to defend Kerry, although she did say words to the effect that Kerry lying about being in Cambodia is a lesser thing than lying about his heroism in getting all those Purple Hearts.

Britt kept reading some quote from sKerry about how it was "Seared, Seared into my memory". Mara tried some dodge about how maybe sKerry was near Cambodia, then she had a flash of brilliance and STFU.

BTW, nice shot of Bender, I always figured him for a Libertaribot.

The trouble with Liars is that it's harder to remember a lie than it is to remember the TRUTH!

This has to be turned into the broader question of "Is the Kerry campaign imploding on lies" or it will fizzle. We have to start a deathwatch. The rest will come as more lies are exposed.

Yes and Fox is getting those legs to move, next thing you know they will be wearing boots..and those boots were made for walking all over Kerry...like Watergate a little drip here a little drip there and soon you have a boat sinking in the river..

"in Cambodia" and "near Cambodia" were absolutely interchangeable back then when talking about my super-secret mission.

Very good. LOL.

I am so DELIGHTED with Carl Cameron's work today. This is BIG, confronting Kerry's campaign with the discrepancies and Kerry being unable to answer by airtime.

(An aside, we ran into him at a D.C. Holiday Inn lobby last summer and my husband shook his hand; he was very gracious.)
