What good could possibly come from this??? An inspector from Mali announcing "I am so impressed with the American election process! I want this for my own country!"???
Another Colin Powell fumble.

With foreign observers on ground Dim whiners will not be able to claim that Bush stole election victory from Unfit to Command Kerry.

So much for our sovereignty boys and girls. Time for Colin Powell to join the Democratic Party. This is, by far, one of the most inane things Ive ever seen. Lets just send Jimmy Carter to watch over the election.
The slippery slope just got slippery-er and steeper.
This makes me madder than a hornet!

In other news, the House of Saud announced Saudi pensions
awarded to the US State Dept staff would be increased by 18%
because of the unlimited US State Dept support for Saudi terror practices
including financing of further murders of Americans, Christians and Jews worldwide.

The only thing that scares me is that inspectors (of any type) can find things wrong with anything (any organization bloated enough to require inspectors has so many bureaucratic rules to follow that anyone can find something amiss). If some small errors are discovered then, the media will make a mountain out of it. Better to not have foreigners monitor our elections.

I am active in this election for the first time in many election cycles because I think we must not let Kerry give the national sovereignty away to the UN. Now comes this.

"Bush continues to give conservatives the rhetoric of sovereignty, independence and strength of the United States, and he continues to give the [opposite] actions," DeWeese told CNSNews.com. "It's just outrageous this administration would allow this to happen," DeWeese added. Go vote if you are compelled but neither of these "Two-Party Cartel" pols should expect a "true" conservative to vote. Just how outlandish will you let this corrupt government go before you will say that it is enough? I'm sorry but I have NO representation in Congress except an occasional Tom De Weese, Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul outburst but NO action.

Seeing how all these 50 people can do is sit around and watch, it just doesn't seem like something to blow up over. It isn't the U.N. (like a lot of people seem to think) and they're not "monitoring" the election. All they can do is observe. They're not allowed to interfere with the voting process.

My guess is that the one worlders realize this may be their one and only chance to mess with our election process.
Chances are they will throw everything they have in 2004.

It sounds like it's an OSCE treaty requirement, but just why the State Dept. had to time it with the obnoxious Democratic UN request, I don't know.
To: truthandlife
darn straight it's frightening! the UN and other global groups are a direct assault on our sovereignty by their very existance. It's time we started treating them as an enemy of our nation.

"The State Department's invitation for an Austrian human rights group to monitor this year's U.S. presidential election is a "frightening" development and "an absolute threat" to America's independence and sovereignty, according to the head of a conservative think tank in Washington, D.C."

Then there is the old adage
"getting a foot in the door". Look where the homosexual "community" is today. Please just leave us alone they said at first. Take homosexuality off the criminal code, just leave US alone. Now hear them.
Canada has considered Sharia law. Good place for observers- except for in Quebec. LOL
To: truthandlife
Absolutely right. This gives quasi-legitimacy to other countries, and the UN in their quest to undermine our sovereignty. Really, really bad. It's like asking a convicted felon to look over your shoulder while you're putting your valuables away in the safe. Then you wonder how the heck you got cleaned out two nights later.
