I am looking for a gun range in Houston (preferably one that is within walking distance of the University of Houston, or that is reachable from there via some sort of public transportation) that is "woman-friendly" and that would offer rentals.
Thanks.
Wow!
I was thinkin' something that won't take my collar bone out..but, maybe after I have a Texas steak....wow!
I fired an MP-5 once(What Reno's thugs pointed at Elian), but that was it for full auto.
"Knob Creek" is certainly on my places to go list.
She ain't gonna be in your part of the US!
Sheeeesh!
Everywhere I go some Yankee's trying to shoot me out of the saddle!
I'd shore love to have you there......uh, I mean, I'd sure love for you to be there.
Hey, isn't Texas now just "Michigan South".... :)
Granted Tampa competes for that title.
We have a ball!
We shoot first and then eat.
I am going to get a little technical here, but stay with me.
The weapon is a 9mm UZI. 9mm is a somewhat weak handgun round. Combine that with a two handed shoulder mounted weapon and there is no recoil. The weapon has a $600.00 suppressor on the front end and is firing sub-sonic rounds.
That means that it has almost no recoil and is so quite that you don't need ear-plugs. (we wear them anyway).
A 13 year old girl can put 30 to 40 rounds into a target with no barrel rise in under two seconds.
Freddy from the movie would stay dead.
My kids would ruin his and Jason's day.
If you want to shoot, you would have the time of your life here. We know how to shoot.
Further, there ain't no "them" in Texas.
Yet, if we let it happen.
Well that all sounds...well double dutch to me. But I'm sure if Dad let his little girl near it, me (a 32 year old thick Mick) might manage! :-)
You guys know what yer talking about!
I'm way impressed. :-)
When that mag ran out she punched the ejection button and held her hand out for another. He handed one to her, she slammed it in and fired off another 3o rounds onto the next target.
I wonder where she gets that from!!
This one is for Happygal, I have seen men post that a short barrel .40s&w hurt their wrist. Most gun-folk people are probably sick of this pic but I will post it one more time as you might not have seen it. My lil' girl shooting a .40 caliber Glock at 10 years old.
You would be welcome and very safe at one of our shoots.
There's more American women taking up shooting than anytime in history.
They start shooting to be able to protect themselves.
They keep shooting because it's so darn much fun!
That little thing won't bother your collar bone. It's a relatively small pistol caliber submachine gun. Now TC's .50 BMG "sniper" rifle is another thing. It probalby wouldn't hurt your shoulder much (Although I didn't shoot it when I had the chance because my shoulder was still recovering from a bone spur) However standing behind and to the side of it when someone else touches it off will literally take your breath away and make your eyes water. It's great!. Here's a look at it:
Needless to say, hearing protection is mandatory, even if we are only shooting .22s, but all of use have plenty of extra "ears", plus all ranges will loan you some if need be.
Go to Eakers page for more pictures of the various shoots, including the one where he blew up TC's M1 Garand rifle, which he mentioned up thread.
If y'all are coming to San Antonio or New Braunfells, be sure to give me a ping! (Or most anywhere no farther from SA than Houston.) I'll try to make it before noon this time :) Gotta admit, October or November sounds alot better as far as spending as day in the Texas sun than early September was.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate the expiration of the AWB than one of TC's range parties!
Will do, you can bank on it!
Whatdayamean... "glocktoberfest ping"
It's only Autust!!!!
hehehehe
August...
Sheeshh, Rika, have some coffee!
LOL
I hadn't thought of it like that, but you're right!
Let's have a giant celebration of the expiration of the AWB!
Oh, yeah! That's the time of the year when everyone becomes autistic for thirty days.
Probably not a good time to have a shoot....
