Wow folks...if Novak considers this serious...this book is going to clearly have lots of citations, names, dates, etc. to back up the claims.

I already note that in the section concerning the "Christmas in Cambodia" episode, two of the three crewmates who deny they were ever in Cambodia (via interviews for the book) are actually people who support Kerry.

It is pretty damaging to Kerry's case when even your supporter's admit you were not in that country.

Full release of documents demanded by his critics could settle this claim quickly if it is unwarranted.

Hard to dispute.

This is the way all real journalists should be treating the issue.

Mr Novak,

Thank you for having the courage to keep the Swifties story alive. Senator Kerry has foisted this charade on the American people for far too long and the media has been glad to carry his water for him.

I salute you.

"O'Neill told me neither he nor his co-author (Jerome R. Corsi, a writer and expert on the Vietnam antiwar movement) has had contact with the Bush White House or the Bush-Cheney campaign. He said he and Corsi, on their own initiative, went to conservative Regnery Publishing to offer the book."

I guess that disputes Juan and Bob Beckel (speaking on FOX), that this was a BUSH PLAN. And .. both men knew IT WASN'T A BUSH PLAN WHEN THEY SAID IT .. which makes me even more angry.

The only problem is that there are enough moron Democrats in this country to dismiss anything and everything as long as they get someone in office to hand out the freebies and back their twisted agendas. Most of them would still vote for Clinton, too, in spite of his history.

"Contrary to claims by Kerry's supporters that he served two combat hitches in Vietnam, his one-year term aboard a guided missile frigate was far from action."

He was only on the Gridley for five months, according to Tour of Duty: John Kerry in Vietnam. "In December of 1967 Ensign Kerry was assigned to the guided-missle frigate USS Gridley; after five months of service in the Pacific, with a brief stop in Vietnam, he returned to the United States and underwent training to command a Swift boat,..."

Any confusion about there being two tours is Kerry's fault. From his Senate website, kerry.senate.gov, today:

"I served two tours of duty, commanding a swift boat in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta as a member of the U.S. Navy."

"My two tours in Vietnam gave me a firsthand understanding of the sacrifice and courage of those who have served and fought to defend our country.
