Maybe someone can explain what the writer means by "be a woman". I often hear about how American gals need to "be women" like their third world counter parts but no one really goes into exactly what they mean by that.

i actually don't know anyone who thinks J.Lo is that good looking. She is like britney spears , in that if you saw her on the street you wouldnt even notice her but because they are always on tv dressed like strippers people will over estimate thier level of hotness.
Where are the requisite J-Lo pictures? Oh there are none? How about Ann Coulter? Anyone have any Ann Coulter pictures?

Visit a few countries where being femenine is not considered a weakness. It's actually quite amazing to see. I feel both pity and empathy towards American women....so gullible, buying into the head trip that to be a woman, you have to act like a man.
Oh my no! I've seen Britney without makeup in the tabloids. She looks fat & haggard at 20, plus she has no personality. OTOH, J Lo has a sultry body, a melifluous voice, and a sweet personality.
plus she marries like everyone she knows.
I have seen J.lo in tabloids also (hey they are my sisters i swear) and she can be a bit fat also at times. Sometimes i think she has a cute face but other times...ugh.
I know Puerto Rican women. I married a Puerto Rican woman.
Let me say one thing. I don't know if this is a Puerto Rican thing, or just a 'my wife' thing, but y'know that stereotype of the lusty man vs. the frigid woman?

Anyone who has been with or knows a "steel magnolia" can attest that a woman doesn't have to be brassy "agressive" bitchy or cuss like a sailor to be "strong".

Have you ever seen Britney Spears or anyone like her (A celebrity who concentrates on taking care of themselves)? She's absolutely stunning, and has the kind of body that you just don't see out in public on a regular basis.
Same goes for Jennifer Lopez.
