Fox just reported legendary oil firefighter Red Adair has Passed. His company was instrumental in putting out the oil field fires set by Saddams troops as the withdrew from Kuwait.

I have not seen this film (it is on DVD paired with another film) but have no doubt that it shows some of Red Adair's handiwork if not his crew in action.

This guy was a legend, that's for sure.
I remember reading about him in awe in the 70's.
Couldn't believe he was still going strong in the 90's.

As a youngin',
Hellfighters was the first movie that I stayed up past my bedtime and watched with my dad's sanction. My dad was an old oil field worker and had a lot of respect for what Mr. Adair did.
One of those Father and son memories that I'll never forget.
